🚨 Applications are open: the Hexarad Widening Participation Scholarship 2026, in partnership with the Radiology Resident Forum (RRF).

Radiology access and outcomes aren't equal across the NHS. If you've seen that first hand and want to help change it, this scholarship is for you.

🎯 This year's question: "What does an equitable radiology workforce look like in 10 years, and what's one step you'd take to help build it?"

🎥 Answer it in a 2 to 3 minute video. TikTok, YouTube, phone recording, narrated slides, animation or podcast style all work. No AI voiceovers, please.

🏆 The winner receives: 💷 £1,500 grant towards conference costs, including travel and hotel 📰 Video published in the RRF's newsletter 🤝 A project within the RRF 📚 One-year subscription to the Clinical Radiology Journal.

We had our fingers crossed last night, and it worked!

At The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders Awards 2026, Hexarad won the Purpose Award. The judges give it to the leaders whose business has had the greatest positive impact, and they chose Hexarad for its contribution to supporting the NHS. Our leadership team, including Tim Baker, Sam Dumonteil, Jaymin Patel and Charles Niehaus, were in the room to collect it.

Every scan we report belongs to a patient waiting for an answer. So far, 3 million of them have one. We started by supporting individual trusts and now support whole regions. Next, we want radiology to run more efficiently across the NHS in England, and then overseas.

Thank you to LDC, The Times and the judging panel. Congratulations to Paul Volkaerts of Nervecentre Software, The Most Ambitious Business Leader of 2026. It was a good night for people building for the NHS. We hope it's contagious 😉

We're excited to announce that our 3rd Annual Hexarad Audit Day will be returning next year on the 26th January 2027 at The Shard, London. This year's theme is Designing Tomorrow's Radiologist: the skills, tools and habits that will shape how the next generation reports scans and diagnoses patients. The event is free to attend, and we'd love to see you there.

With views across the London skyline, it's also a great opportunity to network with colleagues from across the UK, meet people working on similar challenges and spark new collaborations. We will have a number of talks from both internal and external speakers, with time built into the day to connect over some refreshment and a better view than most hospital canteens.

We're also inviting abstracts on audit, quality improvement, service development and innovation projects for both poster and oral presentations. Completed and in-progress work are both welcome.

Shortlisted projects will be invited to present on the day, and the three strongest submissions win a generous prizes of £1,000, £500 and £250 respectively. If you finished a project this year, it deserves a bigger audience than the people who sat through it on a random Wednesday afternoon.
