Do you miss this out? Do you work really hard at a goal, achieve it, and then move on to the next one and forget to stop, put your laptop, tools, whatever down, and celebrate and share that with other people? Because if you don't, your body doesn't. Your neurochemistry doesn't get into a healthy place to reward more and it moves into the punishment zone. Your life becomes a slog of achieving things with no letup, and they no longer feel like achievements and life feels like hard work forever.

I'm celebrating my personal best in my park run. What are you celebrating? Tell me, tell me, tell me....

The language we use matters. Emotional intelligence stays in the head. You can say you're fine but you don't actually change your life or who you turn up as.

Emotional fitness is when we start to embody our emotions and express them in a creative and freeing way that is healthy for ourselves and/or others. By masking and constantly pretending to the world for its own protection (to not upset people, to not take up their time, to not worry them at our own expense), we become a tornado waiting to explode.

Rather than saying "I'm fine," this is a reminder or an invitation to get honest with yourself and others so that you can drop the emotional baggage you're carrying and start to live a juicy, creative, expressive, and fulfilling life that you're here for.

If you're going to tell me you've heard it before but you don't live it, then you need to hear it again. Hearing things is not the same as living things. Our reality changes when we live things. It means they're embodied. It is the disconnection between our head and our heart, which is the difference between clever and wise.

A clever person knows how to make money. A wise person is wealthy because a wise person understands that wealth comes in many shapes and sizes and finances can fluctuate but riches can always accumulate and it starts with this gratitude.

Gratitude is not a mental exercise. It is a vibrational state. It is an emotion that you inhabit when you realise how much you have. You feel free to give where you're guided. When you realise how much you have to appreciate, even when things look financially scarce, unpredictable, and uncertain, you realise:
- If you've eaten today, you've got access to the internet.
- If you've drunk clean water.
- If you've got somewhere to wash yourself, you're doing well.
- If you've smiled at someone, if they've smiled back.
- If someone said hello to you.
- If you've got someone to give you a hug.
- If you've got a pet to stroke or a book to read.

We have resources all around us. We have nourishment for the mind, body, and soul all around us. Are we really seeing it or are we focusing our attention on what we don't have, what we can't control, and what hasn't happened or should have happened?

This picture is of a couple of my gratitude lists that I take each night before bed. I write down:
- 3 things I'm grateful for
- 1 kind thing that I did for someone else
- 1 kind thing that someone did for me

It means I go to bed focusing on what I love about life. Even in the hard times. It means I spend my days looking for kind things to do because I don't like it when I go to bed and have to rack my brain for something I did.

When you start to pivot your life to what you have and what you can contribute, you strengthen the narrative and identity that you are resourced and you are here to contribute not just to take. It may seem simple; it doesn't mean it's easy.

Frustrated by your life? Feel like you're driving with the brakes on? Know that you're capable of more but don't want to burn out working stupid hours. LFG!

I work with people who are ready for the next chapter but aren't chasing a future by abandoning their past. Want a whole rich juicy life that they're proud of living. Book a call, let's have a chat. The mastermind starts soon.

You can tell a lot about a company's culture by whether its leaders feel safe enough to laugh, cry and dance together in the same room.

Over two days with , I saw all three.

For the third year running, they invited me back to work with the senior leadership and management teams from across their homes. Two full days, every year. That alone tells you how seriously they invest in their people.

Our journey together has had a clear arc:
Year one: finding the values.
Year two: learning the values.
Year three: living the values.

That third step is where emotional intelligence and conscious leadership come in. It's my sweet spot, and the work I love most.

Each year the brief has grown. This year I designed and led both days, and brought in a team I trust completely: the brilliant Grainger on handling difficult conversations, and the wonderful Jen Wildes leading breathwork.

The feedback has been extraordinary. What stays with me most is that even some of our team were moved to tears. Partly by the scale of what these people do, day in, day out, caring for others. And partly by how they are with each other.

Since 2008, I've been invited under the bonnet of organisations all over the world, across completely different sectors. It is rare to find a culture this well lived and this well led.

When the people at the top care, it shows. In the room, in the corridors, and in the lives of the residents they look after.

These are exactly the people I love working with. Thank you, Porthaven, for trusting me with your leaders again.

What's the clearest sign of a healthy culture you've ever witnessed?

This September marks my third year speaking at Heart of the Rose.

700 women, in a field in Kent. And every year, one topic still doesn't get talked about enough there: money.

Here's what nearly 20 years of working with women has taught me. We don't have a confidence problem. We have a permission problem, a clarity problem, and an identity problem.

We undersell what we're worth, then call it humility.

We wait for a hunch, a sign, a feeling of alignment before we'll charge what we need, then call it intuition, and backtrack the moment it doesn't work straight away.

We build businesses from "should" instead of desire, then wonder why the joy drained out of work we used to love. Or we build from love, but make money wrong for being part of the process at all.

Somewhere along the way we were taught that wanting money and trusting our body's guidance were opposites. They're not. I've watched the two live in the same woman, in real time, in that same field, more times than I can count.

That's what I'm speaking on this year. Not manifestation. Not mindset fluff. The actual mechanics of how women's relationship with money gets wounded, and how to rebuild it so ambition and intuition stop fighting each other.

If you've ever felt torn between what you want to charge and what feels "too much," I'd love to speak with you. And if September doesn't work, my mastermind opens again soon and covers exactly this.

Send me a message. Let's work out which one is right for you.

Something strange has happened. I used to roll my eyes at football matches, childhood memories of getting the tube into central London through Wembley, involved feeling my parents gripping me tightly, the strong stench of sweat and b**r, and rowdy men jostling me off balance. It was scary.

As a teenager, I found nights in the pub stopped being about connecting with who I was with, as their eyes would be firmly fixated on screens behind me, and I sat there feeling bewildered and alone.

As I grew older, I heard about the amount of domestic violence that soars when England loses. I associated football with something men enjoyed and that hurt women.

But I knew so many wonderful people, and actors whom I revered, who loved football. There must be something to it... So in my mid-twenties I went to a live match with a theatre director I just finished working with, believing if I could get involved in the live action, the drama, the funny chants, I would get it...

But it was freezing, there was nothing I could eat and having no screens meant I couldn't see what was actually happening on the field from where I stood shivering, shivering and hungry.

Football remained an alien cult I didn't get.

Then this year, something shifted.

I think it is because I am out of the UK more than I am in it these days; I am appreciating what it has to offer and what the English are actually like, which you cannot understand when you are consistently in the midst of it all. Rather like being in your own jar of yourself, when inside with the lid on you cannot read the label.

One of the parts of my role I relish is helping clients understand and appreciate themselves and get clarity on what jar they are actually offering the world. It helps them create greater impact, become irreplaceable and truly love being themselves.

Last month, when I checked into the Manchester hotel, extremely jet-lagged and finally experiencing the UK heatwave, I had heard so much about it that I found myself unable to focus on revising my notes for the panel I was speaking on the next day.

Without much thought I flicked on the room's TV as background noise to assist with focus. Without much thought, I lifted the football, but quickly found I was unable to take my eyes off the screen. Switzerland were playing someone, and their goalkeeper picked up the ball with so much grace and ease that I began to believe that this was a really easy job that I could do. World Cup 2026 here I come!

When the match ended, I was full of adrenaline and excitement and ploughed into what I wanted to talk about for the Institute of Directors' annual conference the following day: mainly the need for leaders to become increasingly better at being human beings in the age of AI: more courage, more compassion, more wisdom.

But back to the football... As the World Cup progressed, I left the UK again for some work in the Ecuadorian jungle.
(Make sure you're subscribed to my newsletter to hear about what that is if you want to JOIN ME.) https://helen.hearthealer.co.uk/join-the-tribe

Four of us from different countries had just been on a dusk lagoon ride, feeding piranhas, electric eels, and watching howler monkeys in the trees above. Magical. I won't mention the giant tonga ants that got down my colleague's pants and whose bites left her limping.

We were walking from the taxi boat to the car when a Swiss man in our group asked if we minded diving into the tiny local bar to watch the World Cup game that had ten minutes left. We did, instantly white-knuckled and whooping with the locals within. When extra time was called we jumped into the car and raced back to the retreat centre for dinner and to catch the last thirty minutes. On our way, we passed small shops that had remained open and wheeled large screens out front where locals shared fried plantains on plastic chairs to watch the game. The taxi driver slowed down and rolled past each shop as we all leaned out the windows, ogling the screens as a goal successfully hit the net. Hooray!

At that point I didn't even know who was playing; it wasn't Ecuador, but everyone was watching. I felt part of something unifying that transcended the fact I can't speak Spanish (yet). It was Cape Verde! And I was struck by the goalkeeper who clapped the opposition when they scored. yes he missed the goal but he was recognising their skill even in the midst of the competition.
It felt beautiful, so deeply humble and connected. Later I discovered he was a taxi driver and electrician by day and applied to be a goalie on LinkedIn. During the world cup his social media following had gone from 50k to 180 million. A life-changing experience. I was seeing what football can bring to the world, not just what it distorts.

Now, solo in the Galapagos, I watched the England game in the front garden of a little coffee shop, four Ecuadorian women the same age as me at another table, two in their early twenties at another and three waitresses, all cheering for England, and sang 'It's Coming Home' to me with their strong accents when we won.

Seeing the online banter between Norwegian Air and British Airways, with the former changing their logo to BA for 24 hours as they last their bet with grace and humour, seeing Norwegian fans sit on the luggage belt and row themselves around it with glee on their journey home after being defeated, seeing Haaland hug Bellingham after losing to him as a friend, not a rival.

Now, I see in an increasingly fractious world, where algorithms alienate, infrastructures are crumbling, humanity is shining.

Football is showing:
-where deep personal dedication and teamwork unite,
-where competition is honouring the opposition as those who serve to make you better and raise your game,
-where people cheer for strangers and enjoy the global dance of effort and fun; celebrating what makes us different and what brings us together.

It is indeed a beautiful game.

And what is more, it reminds me once again that what we focus on in this world we find.

Is domestic violence increasing when countries lose? Probably, but I also found out that it's impossible to buy a World Cup ticket from many countries if you're behind on your child maintenance.

Are there fights breaking out between groups? Probably somewhere, but I believe that there are more friendships being formed with strangers in pubs and gathered on plastic chairs outside shops than there is violence.
I really don't believe we would have ever made it this far as a species if the majority of people were doing bad things the majority of the time.

This is an invitation to you to see how, when you change how you look at something, the thing you look at changes.

Love Helen.

P.S. Ironically, now that I love the World Cup, as England gets to the semi-finals this week, the 2-hour match is the exact 2 hours I am on a flight to a course in Costa Rica. Maybe there will be wifi (dubious on the airline I am flying with) and maybe I can be like this man, who bought the wifi and stood with his laptop so the plane could catch the game...

We are always giving and receiving. With our children. With our time. With the trees, if you want to get philosophical about it.

Money is one form of that exchange. And when that exchange feels blocked, restricted, or fraught... it's never really about the money.

It's about our capacity to receive. Our sense of what we deserve. How regulated we feel when things fluctuate.

The world is changing fast. AI is reshaping everything. The people who move through that well are the ones who have done this inner work.

Not About The Money closes in 2 days.

And for those of you ready for a deeper level: the Plenty Mastermind reopens for September intake very soon. International welcome. More details coming.
