It’s National Cholesterol Month, and we have one message: keep moving. 💛

If you have high cholesterol, we still encourage you to aim for 150 minutes of physical activity a week.

Regular activity helps:
⬇️ Lower “bad” cholesterol (LDL)
⬆️ Raise “good” cholesterol (HDL)

You don’t have to do it all at once. Small steps add up, and the best activity is the one you enjoy and can keep doing.

If you’re unsure where to start, speak to your GP or a health professional.

Words from a Healthy Church Initiative participant, and exactly why we do this work.

The Healthy Church Initiative (HCI) supports health in Black African and Black Caribbean communities, where long-term conditions hit hardest and mainstream programmes often miss the mark. We meet people where they already gather: in church, with language and values that feel like home.

Our approach is simple: caring for your body is stewardship. No judgement, no shame, just practical, culturally relevant health guidance delivered safely from the pulpit.

It was a joy to be back with King’s Chapel!

We delivered a talk on hypertension and heart health, covering why knowing your numbers matters, how to spot the signs of high blood pressure, and the links between diet, physical activity and heart health.
We were also delighted to gift blood pressure monitors to members, thanks to the generous support of the British Heart Foundation. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Pastor Tim and the wonderful King’s Chapel family for welcoming us back after completing the Healthy Church Initiative this year.

Building holistic health, together in Thamesmead!

Earlier this month, Dr Shola visited St Paul’s alongside local GP Dr Eugenia and Yinka, a cancer survivor and DChanger lead, for an inspiring session with the congregation.

Together, they covered balancing faith and science, enjoying the incredible health benefits of traditional African foods, and understanding why early cancer screening saves lives.

St Paul’s is a deeply valued FFP partner, and we love exploring the links between faith, food, heart health, and overall wellbeing. We cannot wait to head back soon to speak with the Men’s and Women’s Groups.
