I don’t believe that you ever stop working with your inner child. Whenever I am afraid, or disappointed, my nervous system becomes deregulated, I hear someone shouting in an aggressive manner…I know she has popped back in the room.
Little me…
She is crying, she is sad, she is afraid and alone.
As little people we adopt behaviours and ways of being in the world to keep ourselves safe. We learn to mask certain feelings in order to keep the boat from rocking, the sea calm, the sky from turning black.
In mid life there’s a change which is not just physical, it’s fundamental. I am becoming closer to the girl who was born and raised wild.
The girl in the red tracksuit who loved nothing more than running free in the woods and fields behind Hollingworth Drive (although she was not supposed to go there and definitely not alone) is returning home to me.
Before life happened.
Before the loss.
Before struggle.
Before the risky behaviours.
Before she abandoned herself over and over and over again.
When she had no voice of her own and learned to keep quiet.
We are together.
She is setting her Spirit free!
It’s a somewhat difficult and painful transition - letting go and then letting go some more, and then a bit more…the surrendering, shedding, submitting, a story of severance.
It’s also necessary and divinely beautiful, on the other side is freedom like no other - when we learn to listen to our own wild self, to remember who we really are, who we were born to be.
It’s the journey back home to yourself…
If you need a travel companion, someone to light the way, to walk along side the wild path, my DM’s are always open.
