Last week, our ambulance visited Rosemount MOT & Service Centre Ltd in Hyde for its annual MOT and service.

Wherever possible, we try to use local businesses and suppliers for the goods and services we need. Supporting local businesses helps keep more money within the communities we serve, strengthens the local economy and helps build relationships with other organisations working across our area.

A big thank you to the team at Rosemount MOT Centre for looking after us and helping keep our ambulance ready for the road.

Yesterday, Community Medics was pleased to attend the Action Together Rochdale Live Well Summit.

It was great to be part of the conversations and contribute ideas around how Live Well can continue to grow and develop across Rochdale, supporting stronger communities and helping local people access the right support.

We are looking forward to seeing how the programme develops and exploring how Community Medics can continue to play a part in supporting communities across the borough.

πŸ“£ VOLUNTARY DIRECTOR OPPORTUNITY – DIRECTOR OF VOLUNTEER SERVICES

Community Medics CIC is growing, and we are looking for someone who wants the opportunity to take real ownership of the volunteer side of our organisation. This is a voluntary, unpaid Director-level role and a genuine opportunity to shape, grow and establish how volunteering works across Community Medics.

This is not simply a role maintaining what already exists. We want someone who can help us build it. As our Director of Volunteer Services, you will have the opportunity to shape our volunteer strategy, grow our volunteer community and establish the structures, leadership and ways of working needed to support that growth. You will lead the development of areas including:

β€’ Volunteer recruitment and growth
β€’ Volunteer engagement and retention
β€’ Training, development and progression
β€’ Volunteer leadership and succession planning
β€’ Volunteer recognition and experience
β€’ Building and supporting our team of Volunteer Leads
β€’ Developing the volunteer function as Community Medics continues to grow

Our volunteers support community first aid, event medical provision, community education, and wider organisational activity. We want to significantly expand what our volunteer community can deliver over the coming years.

The role sits on the Board of Community Medics CIC and gives you the opportunity to genuinely influence the future direction of the organisation. You do not need to come into the role with everything already established. We are particularly interested in someone who enjoys creating things, developing teams, growing volunteer programmes and turning ideas into sustainable delivery.

We are also flexible about what the opportunity looks like. You might be looking for a two-year fixed-term voluntary Director opportunity where you can come in, build something substantial and leave behind a strong and sustainable volunteer structure. Alternatively, you may be looking for a longer-term voluntary Director position and want to grow alongside Community Medics as the organisation develops. Either approach is absolutely welcome.

The role is designed to be flexible around work, family and other commitments, with day-to-day volunteer management delegated through our Volunteer Leads. We are looking for someone who can provide the leadership, direction and energy to help the volunteer function thrive. If you are passionate about volunteering, community organisations, developing people or building teams, we would really like to hear from you.

If you would like to express an interest in the role, email [email protected] with a brief statement explaining why you think you would be a good fit.

Please feel free to share this with anyone who you think could help us build the next chapter of volunteering at Community Medics.

Over the weekend we were at Moore Primary School in Warrington supporting their re-arranged M-Fest. Luckily our first aid teams did not need to put their training into practice, but they did part their knowledge on to the next generation!

If you have an event coming up and are in need of first aid cover, get in touch for a quote by emailing [email protected].
