🎃👻 IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN… 👻🎃

The nights are getting darker, the pumpkins are starting to appear and before we know it, it’ll be Halloween! 🧡🎃

But at The SEND Den, we know that Halloween doesn’t look the same for every child.

For some children, traditional trick-or-treating can be difficult because of communication needs, sensory sensitivities, mobility needs, anxiety, unfamiliar environments or simply because going door-to-door isn’t something they can comfortably do.

So this year, we’re bringing the Halloween magic to The SEND Den! 🕷️✨

🎃 Monday 26th – Friday 30th October 🎃

We’re opening our doors for five full days of sensory Halloween fun, giving children, young people and adults the chance to enjoy Halloween in a way that works for them.

NO PRESSURE. NO EXPECTATIONS. ❤️

There’s no need to say “Trick or Treat!”

Children can point, sign, use AAC, choose a picture, communicate in their own way — or simply explore and enjoy.

We’re spreading the sessions across five days so we can keep numbers manageable and create a more comfortable experience without the huge crowds and overwhelm that Halloween can sometimes bring.

🌈 Alternative Provision – Life Skills at The SEND Den 🌈

At The SEND Den, alongside Calm Together, we believe that learning isn’t just about what happens in a classroom. 💙

Sometimes children and young people need a different environment, a different approach and the opportunity to learn through doing.

Our Alternative Provision Life Skills support is all about helping children build confidence, independence and practical skills that they can use in everyday life. 🌱

From learning about routines, communication and personal care, to cooking, money skills, time management, problem solving, travel and accessing the community — we work at the child’s pace and build on their individual strengths. 💫

We use a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, creating a safe and supportive space where children feel respected, understood and valued.

Most importantly, we celebrate the little wins. ❤️
Because sometimes the smallest step can be a really big achievement.

Our aim is to help children develop the skills and confidence they need today, while building towards a more independent and positive future. 🌈

📣 WEST END FAMILIES WE NEED YOUR HELP! 📣

We have recently applied for Pride in Place funding which, if successful, would allow families living within the eligible West End area to access The SEND Den completely FREE of charge. 💜

As part of this, we would really like to gather some evidence of how many local families would benefit from and use this opportunity.

We know that the cost of days out and activities can quickly add up, particularly for families who may need to access suitable activities regularly. We never want finances to be the reason a family feels isolated or unable to access a safe and welcoming space.

Our hope is that this funding would give more West End families the opportunity to:

💜 Access The SEND Den without worrying about the cost
💜 Meet other local families and build relationships
💜 Reduce isolation for both children and parents/carers
💜 Build confidence in accessing community activities
💜 Give children a safe, inclusive place to play, regulate and just be themselves
💜 Give parents and carers somewhere they can feel comfortable, understood and never judged

At The SEND Den, our support has always been about the whole family. While the children play and explore, parents and carers have the opportunity to connect, talk, offload and build their own support networks too.

No diagnosis is needed to access The SEND Den. We welcome children and families with a wide range of needs, as well as siblings, because inclusion means everyone. 🥰

⭐ THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP! ⭐

If you live within the eligible West End area and would use The SEND Den if funded FREE sessions were available, please comment below.

Even something as simple as “Yes, we would use this” is really helpful.

If you feel comfortable, you can also tell us how this would benefit your family, for example financially, reducing isolation, helping your child access activities, meeting other families or having somewhere you feel safe and understood.

Your responses will help us demonstrate to funders that there is a genuine need and demand within our local community for this support.

🎄✨ CHRISTMAS AT THE SEND DEN 2026 ... BOOKINGS ARE OPENING! ✨🎄

TODAY we are officially starting to release our Christmas availability, and we’re kicking things off with the MAIN event ... Here at our Morecambe Centre on Euston Road.

This is the whole shebang. The full SEND Den Christmas experience. TWO whole hours to explore, regulate, play and soak up the Christmas magic with absolutely NO rushing and NO pressure. 💙

And because these are our evening sessions, it’ll be getting dark outside… which means our Enchanted Forest will come alive with twinkling lights, Christmas magic and all those gorgeous cosy festive vibes. ✨🌲❄️

Your two-hour experience will include:

🎅 Meeting Santa completely at your young person’s pace
