Norovirus, sometimes called the winter vomiting bug, is a stomach bug that causes vomiting and diarrhoea. It can be unpleasant, but most people start to feel better within a few days.
If you have norovirus:
๐ง Drink plenty of fluids to help prevent dehydration
๐ Get plenty of rest
๐ฝ๏ธ Eat when you feel able
๐งผ Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water โ alcohol hand gels do not kill norovirus effectively
๐ Stay off work or school until youโve had no vomiting or diarrhoea for at least 48 hours
๐ณ Avoid preparing food for other people during this time
Be particularly alert for signs of dehydration, such as dark urine, peeing less often, dizziness, a dry mouth or unusual tiredness.
