Ever noticed how two people can face exactly the same week and experience it very differently? Or how one person can have two very similar weeks and cope well with one, yet feel completely overwhelmed by the other?
The demands are the same.
The meetings are the same.
The deadlines are the same.
The available energy isn’t.
In the UK, so much of family life revolves around school terms and, as we head towards the end of a busy half term, I know many people will be running on empty.
Teachers and students have almost completed the marathon of the longest half term of the year.
Parents have been juggling work, school runs and family commitments.
Business owners, healthcare workers, managers and countless others have been navigating their own deadlines, responsibilities and pressures.
Different demands perhaps, but the same reality: when life asks more of us, we draw upon our available energy and capacity.
The mistake many of us make is assuming that if we managed a similar workload six months ago, we should still be able to manage it now.
But capacity isn’t fixed.
It changes according to the energy we have available to meet those demands.
That’s why I’m so interested in the relationship between Energy, Capacity & Performance.
Through the lens of a Health & Nutrition Coach, I help individuals and organisations explore the factors that influence energy, shape capacity and ultimately affect performance.
The good news?
A low battery isn’t a personality trait.
It’s often a signal that something needs attention.
💙 What’s one thing you’ll do this week to recharge your battery?
