Today, we were delighted to welcome Valerie Millar from Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke (NICHS) to our Diabetes Live Well Hub for a very informative Healthy Heart Talk.

Valerie shared valuable information about cardiovascular disease, the importance of managing blood pressure, understanding the risk factors associated with heart disease and the simple steps we can take to protect our heart health.

We explored how everyday choices, including what we eat, how active we are and the importance of regular health checks, can make a real difference to our long-term health and wellbeing.

There was certainly plenty of food for thought, with lots of useful information and practical advice for everyone to take away.

A huge thank you to Valerie for delivering such an interesting session, and to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussions.

Small changes can make a big difference, and looking after our hearts is something we can all benefit from.
