Sometimes confidence starts with feeling better in yourself.
When you are exhausted, everything can feel harder- I get it and I've been there.
When you've had better rest, you may feel more able to,
Connect with others
Exercise
Make healthier choices
Enjoy your work day!

Sleep won't magically solve everything, but it can be an important piece of your wellbeing puzzle so if you haven't yet tried some of my sleep and wellbeing tips- start with just 1 and let me know how you got on, I'd love to hear.

Let's talk about something that doesn't always get talked about…Libido.

Menopause can bring changes to desire, energy, mood and intimacy.
When you are exhausted, intimacy probably isn't at the top of your list!
Better rest may help you feel more energised and emotionally connected.
If you are experiencing persistent changes in libido or discomfort, don't suffer in silence , speak to an appropriate healthcare professional.

Let's normalise talking about menopause and intimacy.

Night sweats keeping you awake?
Menopause related temperature changes can make getting comfortable at night difficult.
Try experimenting with your sleep environment:
Keep the bedroom comfortably cool.
Choose breathable bedding.
Wear layers you can easily remove, if you wear anything!
Keep water nearby.
Keep your bedtime routine calming.
And remember; persistent or troublesome symptoms are worth discussing with a healthcare professional.

What’s your best tip for staying comfortable at night? I tell all my clients about using a pet cooling mat under the sheets- it really works for me!

Sleep and hormones are connected.
During menopause, changing hormone levels can contribute to symptoms such as night sweats, hot flushes and disrupted sleep.
Then, poor sleep can leave you feeling even more exhausted the next day.
It can become a frustrating cycle- I know.
That's why supporting your sleep routine is worth prioritising.
You can't control every symptom all of the time but there are lifestyle habits you can experiment with so if you have missed any during October, take a look back and let me know which ones land.

We have spent the last two weeks talking about tips for your wellbeing.
So let's check in…
What have you tried?
Earlier wind-down
Phone out of the bedroom
Less caffeine
Aromatherapy
Reading
Box breathing
Covering the clock
Remember, you don't have to do everything.
One small change that becomes a habit is far more realistic than trying to completely overhaul your life overnight.

Tell me in the comments your biggest win so far!

Try this simple breathing exercise tonight.
It's called box breathing.
Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds.
Hold for 4 seconds.
Slowly breathe out for 4 seconds.
Hold for 4 seconds.
Repeat 4–6 times or as is comfortable for you.
The slow, structured breathing can be a lovely way to focus your attention away from racing thoughts.
Try it when you get back into bed after waking during the night.

Save this post so you can easily find the technique when needed or share with a friend that needs some support.

2:47am?
You look at the clock.
“I've only got 4 hours left!”
Suddenly, you are doing mental maths instead of sleeping.

Try covering your clock so you can't see the time when you wake during the night.
Remember to keep your phone out of reach.
Your only job at 3am is to rest.

Try this tonight and let me know how you get on.
