THE REALITY OF LIVING WITH FIBROMYALGIA 💜
Today my body has completely given in and I've had to cancel my clinic appointments.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate letting people down, especially my clients but today I've had absolutely no choice.
The tremors, uncontrollable shaking, vision disturbances, neuralgia, jaw pain, weakness in my arms and legs, swollen and painful joints, dizziness and sheer exhaustion have completely floored me.
My whole body feels like it's made of concrete. Even the simplest things feel like climbing a mountain.
And this is the side of fibromyalgia that people don't always see.
One day I can be pottering around, treating clients, organising events, laughing and getting on with life. The next I can barely function.
It's unpredictable, frustrating and sometimes canny frightening.
This isn't a sympathy post. It's an awareness post.
Because so many people are living with invisible illnesses, putting on a smile, turning up for work, looking after their families and pushing through pain that nobody else can see.
And sometimes, no matter how determined you are your body makes the decision for you.
I'm currently waiting for Lewis Massage 2 You to come and hopefully loosen some of these muscles up a bit and I'm so grateful to have someone who can help when my body gets like this.
I'm also incredibly lucky to have such understanding clients. I genuinely hate cancelling on anyone but the kindness I've been shown today means more than you probably realise.
I absolutely love what I do and having fibromyalgia is actually a huge part of why I'm so passionate about helping other people find some relief and switch off for a while.
So if you're living with something similar just know that I see you.
And if someone you know has to cancel plans, take time off or suddenly goes quiet, remember that you might only be seeing a tiny part of what they're dealing with.
Not every illness is visible and not every bad day can be pushed through.
Hopefully see you all soon.
