🎤 Expert Consultant Urologist Mr. John Donohue from Wells Health will give an informative talk on prostate health, symptoms, treatment options, and the latest care developments.

Our lung cancer screening team have been at Tunbridge Wells Hospital today talking to patients and visitors as we get ready for the launch of our screening programme later this month.

🫁 The programme will offer lung health checks (and CT scans where needed) to eligible people aged 55–74 who have ever smoked.

This aims to detect lung cancer earlier and improve outcomes for our communities.

Those eligible for the screening programme will be contacted via their GP once the service starts.

Supporting stroke survivors. 💙

The Stroke team shared their expertise with local stroke survivors at forum hosted by Stroke Association South East last week.

The event brought together stroke survivors, volunteers, NHS specialists and patient representatives to hear the latest updates on stroke care across the region.

Stroke Clinical Lead, Catherine Mandri (pictured right) and colleagues from East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust gave an overview of regional stroke services, developments in stroke rehabilitation pathways and changes in rehabilitation elements of stroke care.

Catherine also talked about the benefits of cardiovascular exercise after a stroke, including evidence from two international clinical trials demonstrating its positive long-term impact, and encouraged attendees to get involved in stroke research.

Catherine said: “The stroke lived experienced voice is extremely impactful and the event demonstrated how the NHS, voluntary and community sector, and stroke survivors can share knowledge, experiences and learn from each other to improve care across Kent and Medway.”
