Sunday Reflections with Together Mindful 🍂

Some Sundays are made for warm mugs, thick socks and listening to the rain against the window.

There’s something comforting about letting the weather get on with it while you settle indoors. For a moment, there’s nowhere else you need to be.

Today, take a little time to enjoy whatever brings you warmth.

Feel the mug in your hands.

Get comfortable on your chair, sofa or bed and notice the support beneath you.

Allow your shoulders to soften and your body to rest a little.

Let something on the to-do list wait.

What does cosy look like in your house today? ☕ 🧦 🛋️ 📖 🧡

You don’t have to stop thinking to practise mindfulness. But you might discover a different way to relate to what’s going on in your mind. 🌿

I’ll be at the Holistic & Wellbeing Fair in Dunblane on 1 November, offering two 20-minute mindfulness sessions:

🕐 1pm — Never Mind Your Mind
Ever tried NOT to think about something, only to find it’s all you can think about? We’ll explore why wrestling with our thoughts can leave us tangled up — and try a gentler approach.

🕒 3pm — Hidden in Plain Sight
Are you sure you’re seeing the whole picture? Through insightful experiments and simple mindfulness practices, we’ll explore how familiar ways of thinking shape what we notice — and what we miss.

Each mindfulness session will be followed by a sound bath with Karen from Inner Sanctum Healing — time to settle, rest and immerse yourself in sound.

Both sessions are open to everyone, whether you’re new to mindfulness or already practise.

📍 Victoria Hall, Stirling Road, Dunblane
📅 1 November | Fair open 11am–4pm

Book your mindfulness and sound bath experience using the link below. Booking a wellbeing experience includes FREE entry to the fair.

I’ll also have a Together Mindful stall — come over for a chat. I’d love to see you there!

HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT
Are you sure you’re seeing the whole picture?

Sometimes it isn’t the situation that needs to change, but the way we see it.

Our minds fill in gaps, make assumptions and tell us familiar stories — about ourselves, other people and what’s possible. Often without us noticing.

In November’s Dunblane mindfulness session, we’ll explore what might be missing when we see things the way we always have.

Through some surprising experiments and guided mindfulness practices, we’ll notice how our minds shape our experience — and discover how a different perspective can give us more room to respond, rather than react.

An hour to step out of the rush, get curious and perhaps see something familiar in a new light.

📅 Saturday 14 November
🕥 10.30–11.30am
📍 RFL House, Dunblane
💷 £15

Everyone welcome — no mindfulness experience needed 🌿

🌿 Sunday Reflections | Together Mindful

Funny how the things that go wrong get all the attention, isn’t it?

One awkward conversation, one cancelled plan, one thing that didn’t work out — and suddenly that’s the story of our week.

Meanwhile, all the little things that went right go unheralded.

They may not be spectacular. They just quietly happened.

What if we gave the good stuff equal airtime?

What’s one thing that went right for you this week? 😊

Wishing you a lovely Sunday. 🌿

You know more English than you think. So why is speaking it sometimes so difficult?

Perhaps you know exactly what you want to say — until someone asks you a question in English.

Or you spend so much time worrying about making a mistake that the conversation has moved on before you’ve found the words.

Sound familiar?

I’m an experienced English language teacher and assessment specialist, and I’ve recently launched English with Confidence through Together Mindful.

I offer friendly, individual online sessions for adults who want to feel more comfortable learning and using English.

No pressure to be perfect. No embarrassment about mistakes. Just practical support, encouragement and a different approach to building confidence.

🌍 Online sessions — wherever you are.

I’m delighted to share this guided mindfulness practice, which I recently recorded in collaboration with MND Scotland. 💙

Created especially for people affected by motor neurone disease, it offers a few minutes to pause, reconnect and take a little time for yourself.

This is a project particularly close to my heart, and I’m grateful to MND Scotland for the opportunity to contribute.

I hope it brings a little comfort to those who need it.

🌿 Sunday Reflections | Together Mindful

Life doesn’t always go according to plan. Sometimes it throws things at us that we couldn’t possibly have anticipated.

And while we can’t always change what’s happening around us, we can learn to recognise what’s happening within us.

That little moment between something happening and our response to it? That’s where mindfulness can make a difference.

Not because we always get it right. But because we can learn to respond differently.

A thought for today: Is there something you’ve been trying to control that might benefit from a different approach?

Wishing you a lovely Sunday. 🌿
