Harvesting in the gentle sunshine - plant medicine for the soul 🌿💚🌿

California poppy is an important anxiolytic in my practice and it is proving difficult to source due to disruption in supplies. A reminder to grow and gather what we can so that we can become more sustainable for our health and happiness.

So grateful for the space to grow and gather and for the gentle sun and rain of September after the challenges of the dry baking heat this year.

To find out more about the herb plot here at Higher Nurture and how you can use home grown and gathered medicine, join me on one of our seasonal workshops.

I’ve spent time this last week quietly harvesting in the garden making the most of the softening light and heat.

There is something deeply healing and precious about connecting with plants and gathering in medicine in this way.

Bountiful medicine for our physical and emotional health.

The sun has ripened the plant medicine and the heat of my ancient Rayburn preserves it for use in practice in the months ahead. A mixture of baskets and paper bags watched and turned to dry the herbs to a crisp snap before storing them away from sunlight in an airtight container.

Soothing pottering with a purpose to heal body and soul 🌿💚🌿
