This is why coaching is different to having a chat with friends- I’m not there to just make you feel better about yourself and comfort you. Obviously I won’t be horrid (I am always empathetic and understanding) but it’s my job to push you (gently) out of your comfort zone and encourage you to be accountable for your decisions and your future.

No one else can make the changes you’re looking for, they have to be worth it for you or you won’t put the effort in.

I cannot believe that I am officially a hypocrite. I spend (almost) every single day coaching women and helping them to figure out what they need in their lives to be excited about it again and here I am doing the exact opposite.

We moved house about a month ago and are in rented accommodation while our house fell through, buying a different one etc etc. I thought for a while it was just the stress of moving that was making me feel flat but when I really had a good look at my life, I realised that I’ve stopped doing anything for myself, just for fun. And it’s being going on way longer than the last 2 months or so.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the rat race- chores, clubs, work - the list goes on and on and before you know it, it’ll be Christmas and you still haven’t changed anything or tried anything new.

So I’ve given myself a challenge- 30 days to fall back in love with my life again. I’m going to do something every single day purely because I want to, NOT because it makes someone else’s life easier/ better etc. it might even just be having a hot cup of tea before getting ready for the day or it might be trying a new hobby/ making new friends etc. I’ll also be trying some of my own coaching tips and tricks along the way.

Follow me to see how it goes and join in with me to fall in love with your life again (or not) in 30 days.

Maybe nothing is terribly wrong- youdon’t want to blow your life up. You don’t necessarily want a new relationship, a new career or to move to Bali.

You just have this feeling that there’s something else you want from your life.

The problem is… you have no idea what.

And when you’ve spent years making decisions around work, family, money and what everyone else needs, “What do I actually want?” can be a surprisingly difficult question to answer.

You don’t need to have the answer before you start.

Sometimes you find it by getting curious about what no longer fits, what you’re drawn towards, what you miss, what you envy, what gives you energy — and then actually trying things.

That’s the work I coach women through.

So if your current answer is simply “I don’t know what I want. I just know this isn’t it” — you’re exactly who this page is for.

If this is where you are, don’t start by asking “What do I want to do with my life?”

It’s too big a question. And when you’ve spent years making decisions around work, children, money, partners and what needs doing, it’s no surprise your mind goes blank.

Start smaller. Ask yourself:

1. What do I want MORE of?
Not what should you do. What feelings, experiences or parts of yourself do you want more of? Adventure? Creativity? Challenge? Freedom? Connection? Achievement? Fun?

2. What do I want LESS of?
What repeatedly drains you, frustrates you or makes you think, “I can’t still be doing this in five years”?

3. What am I curious about?
Not “what’s my passion?” Just: what keeps catching your attention? What do you read about, envy slightly, save, Google or think I’d love to try that?

You don’t need to figure out the next 20 years.

You need enough information to take the next step. Clarity often comes after you start moving, not before.

This is exactly the kind of thing I coach around — figuring out what you actually want next when all you currently know is “not this.”

Don’t let another 1, 5 or even 10 years go by without making the changes you know you deserve. You wouldn’t let your kids/ partner muddle through life without truly looking forward to anything so why would you let yourself?

With my coaching, I’ll guide you through exactly what’s keeping you stuck in this loop, uncover what’s really important to you and help you create a way to make these changes WITHOUT abandoning the life you’ve worked so hard to build.

You owe it to yourself, and those around you, to live a life you’re proud of and excited by

This question gets much harder than it should be.

Not what do your kids enjoy.
Not what do you all do as a family.
Not what do you do because it needs doing.

What do YOU genuinely enjoy doing?

And “I don’t know” is a completely valid answer- it gives you information and you can work with that.

I’m curious how many people can answer it straight away- let me know

Mine is working for myself and creating something just for me, without anyone else telling me what to do

I think we spend so much time noticing what we’ve lost or haven’t achieved that we forget there are probably things about our lives our younger selves would be absolutely fascinated by.

Tell me yours. I want to read these.

There are so many different stages to life and sometimes you have to give 100% of what you’ve got for a short time to get it sorted. That’s definitely the case for me, for the last 6 weeks or so, everything but work and moving has gone out the window and I can see the effect it has on me. I’m snappier, have less patience and am generally a bit less pleasant to be around!!

I also know that this is a short term phase and that when we’re settled in the new house I can find a bit more balance again and start making more time for myself. It’s so easy to let that slide and I’ll have to be quite strict with myself to ensure I don’t slip back into ignoring what I want 100% of the time

How long has it been since your “short term phase” and you’ve never quite managed to get your balance back?

You can love the life you’ve built and still realise there isn’t enough of you in it anymore. It’s not that you want to go backwards- you are not the person you were 20 years ago, and you shouldn’t be but maybe there were parts of her you never meant to leave behind.

Her curiosity. Her interests. Her plans. The things she did simply because she wanted to.

You don’t need a whole new life, maybe you just need something in this one that makes you say:

“Actually, I’ve started…”

What would you love to finish that sentence with?

This happens to me too- that feeling of relief that you’ve got a few hours where no one needs anything from you. Now I consciously try and build in 10 minutes a day where I am unavailable to everyone- I drink my tea hot, listen to a song, stare into space- whatever I want to do. I don’t always manage it but I always feel better when I do. I also tell my kids that’s what I’m doing- mum deserves a break and this is my 10 minutes.
