CThA member • Fully insured Abdominal Sacral Massage has it's roots in ancient practices, it is deep and intuitive and offers holistic treatment . The massage covers the areas from the pubic bone up to the sturnum (where the ribs meet) and the lower back (sacral area) including the glutes (bottom). Concentrating on the core,( centre) of the body itworks to bring energy and circulation to many of the major organs including the reproductive organs and the digestive system. It works on major lymph areas and the glutes which contain a large supply of nerves. This can have a major effect on the rest of the body too, bringing balance and often a release of tension and a release of retained emotions/ trauma. Amongst the many benefits the massage has to offer, it also offers an opportunity to breakdown plaques and build up in the digestive tract therefore promoting detox and better absorption. Massaging the lower abdominal area can aid the (female) reproductive system to expel stagnant blood and old cells during menstruation,to re-align the uterus after any falls or trauma, in turn helping the body to have a healthier menstrual cycle and increasing the chances of conceiving and carrying a child to term. The sacral area is also worked on as part of the whole internal system which connects nerves and muscles to the digestive and reproductive systems. Release your potential, discover a neglected part of yourself, reconnect and relax in a safe and comfortable environment.

Treatment Room upgrade highlights:

I'm taking some time out to redecorate the room and prepare for clients- so excited!!

There will be more availability for treatments after the 15th October - I need to revise my schedule as I am going to be working in massage full time.

AND I'll be putting aside some time to finish 3 onsite massage case studies soon after which I will put a shout-out for before hand and give details.

✨So much still to do on the treatment room makeover.Next up sand and prime the woodwork and radiator!

Trauma- Informed practice is the foundation upon which I want to build my practice with clients.
I'm about to dive into this book "Trauma-Informed Bodywork" that arrived on my doorstep this afternoon to help inform my practice further and deeper. I always try to remain open and curious about learning and doing my best for and with my clients, to empower them and to include them in the work we do together so that it's NOT something I do TO them.

These are principles I already bring into my practice:

Consent is ongoing. Not a form you sign at the start. You can change your mind, pause, or stop at any point, no explanation needed.

You're in charge. Pressure, pace, areas worked on, what you wear, how you're positioned. These are always your decisions.

Clear communication. I'll tell you what I'm going to do before I do it, and I'll check in with you throughout.

Safety comes first. Both physical and emotional. A comfortable, calm space where you don't have to perform or explain yourself.

No story required. You never need to share your history or reasons to receive care.

Your body, your pace. Healing can't be rushed, and a "no" or "not today" is always respected.

Squeeeeeee! I've been mocking up ideas for the treatment room and as I have a fairly quiet couple of work weeks ahead, I'm prioritising getting stuck into transforming the dedicated treatment room!

So the next few days will be sorting out and packing items in the room, buying the colour drench paint and prepping the surfaces!

I'm currently treating from my lounge which is great for accessibility needs because it's on the ground floor- so once the treatment room is finished the lounge will still be an option for those with accessibility needs but the main bulk of treatments will be in the dedicated, cosy treatment room upstairs.

Watch this space to follow the journey ✨

She was warm and professional. The booking system was straightforward with payment up front. I will definitely be back."

Shin pain when running? It may be more than just a tight muscle.

Shin pain is common in runners, particularly when training volume, intensity or frequency increases faster than the body has had time to adapt.

What’s often called “shin splints” (medial tibial stress syndrome) can involve the tissues around the shin becoming overloaded and irritated. Tight or overworked calf muscles can also contribute to discomfort and restricted movement.

From a deep tissue massage perspective, treatment can help by working with the calf muscles and surrounding soft tissues, helping to ease areas of tension, reduce muscular discomfort and support more comfortable movement.

Massage can be particularly useful alongside appropriate rest, gradual return to running and progressive strengthening, giving the body time to build its capacity to handle increasing loads.

If you’re experiencing persistent or worsening shin pain, it’s important to have it checked by an appropriate healthcare professional, particularly if the pain is very localised or occurs even when you’re not running.

Massage is about helping your body feel and move better while you work towards returning to the activities you enjoy.
