What if you stopped looking for the love you’re missing… and started noticing the love that’s already there? ❤️

Today in therapy, I did a simple activity with a child called the Love Bank.

We filled it with all the little ways people show love…

A cuddle.
A kind word.
Someone checking in.
A favourite meal.
Sitting beside you when you’re upset.
Remembering the little things.

And it reminded me how easily we can focus on the withdrawals — the arguments, the disappointments, the times someone wasn’t there…

…and forget about all the deposits.

Sometimes we don’t need more love.

We need to slow down enough to recognise how loved we already are. ❤️

Maybe today, take a minute and think…

✨ TRANSITION TUESDAY ✨

Okay… I don’t just see a change in my skin. I see a change in me.

When I first started using Tropic, I honestly wasn’t someone who had a skincare routine.

I was busy. I was tired. I had a million other things to do and skincare always came somewhere near the bottom of the list.

Fast forward to now…

✨ My skin feels healthier and more hydrated

✨ Skincare has actually become something I enjoy doing

And then there’s the unexpected part…

STOP trying to get glass skin. 👀

Yep. I said it.

Healthy skin does NOT have to be poreless, perfectly smooth and shiny 24/7.

Real skin has pores.
Real skin has texture.
Real skin gets spots.
Real skin gets hormonal.
Real skin has bad days.

And that doesn’t mean it’s unhealthy.

For me, skincare isn’t about chasing perfect skin anymore.

It’s about cleaning, hydrating, nourishing and actually enjoying looking after my skin. 🌿

I’m not actually a very confident person.

I know… probably not what you’d expect from someone who supports mental health day in day out to be anxious themselves…

But the truth is, I’m anxious a LOT of the time.

I’m a people pleaser.
I overthink.
I worry about what people think of me.
And I can very easily talk myself out of things because my brain starts telling me all the reasons I shouldn’t do them.

So going to Glammies on my own?

That was HUGE for me.

I barely knew anyone. I was walking into a room full of people I’d never met, completely out of my comfort zone, and honestly… there were plenty of anxious thoughts beforehand!

But I went.

And do you know what?

I had the BEST time. ❤️

And it reminded me of something I teach the children I work with every single day:

When we constantly avoid the things that make us anxious, we teach our brains that those things really are something to be scared of.

The unknown feels scary.
Irrational fears feel very real.
Anxiety can convince us that something terrible is going to happen.

But sometimes, the only way to show our brains that we CAN cope…

…is to do the thing anyway.

Not because we suddenly stop feeling anxious.

But because we learn that we can feel anxious AND still be brave.

I didn’t magically become a confident person at Glammies.

I just pushed through the anxious thoughts, stepped outside my comfort zone and gave myself the opportunity to find out what might happen if I stopped letting fear make the decision for me.

And maybe that’s something I need to remind myself of more often too. 🥹

You don’t have to feel fearless to be brave.

Sometimes bravery is simply saying:

“I’m scared… but I’m going anyway.” ❤️
