Naturally made beeswax - had a swarm underneath one of my colonies, which has now been hived.
The second pic shows eggs in the cells, which means that the Queen 🐝 is laying; isn’t nature wonderful!

Ever wondered what the bees are doing now?
They will have formed a cluster, huddling together to protect the Queen.
They use their wings and vibrate constantly (like us shivering) to keep the hive warm and they need food (honey) to do this.
It’s a beekeeper’s job to ensure that the bees have enough food throughout winter so that they can continue to shiver, huddle and keep the Queen safe and warm!

Honey harvest time, local honey from beehives in Oulton. The girls have been busy foraging on Himalayan balsam, coming into their hives like little ghosts, covered in pollen.
