Empower Menopause is an innovative business providing face to face or online health coaching and support service dedicated to empowering women navigating the complexities of the menopause. Driven by first-hand experiences and a passion for women's health, I identified a gap of the need for accessible and empathetic resources tailored specifically for menopause, with a vision to transform the way women perceive and manage menopause. Empower Menopause is rooted in the belief that menopause should not be a period of confusion or distress but rather an opportunity for growth and empowerment, facilitated through informed choices and supportive networks. There is a growing recognition of menopause as a significant health issue, leading to increased discussions and education around the topic. Campaigns and initiatives by health organisations are helping to destigmatise menopause, making it a more openly discussed subject. More women are seeking holistic approaches to health and wellbeing, moving away from traditional medical interventions. This trend aligns with the focus on providing comprehensive support that encompasses physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological aspects of menopause. The sessions cover both pharmacological and non-pharmacological menopause support. Mission
My mission is to provide comprehensive educational resources and tailored support for everyone. I am focused on enhancing understanding and management of menopause. Currently I am offering face-to-face and online meetings, helping small and large businesses to assist their employees to understand and navigate this important life transition. I am committed to fostering a supportive community where everyone can access valuable insights and guidance.

🌿 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY — LET’S MAKE INTIMACY COMFORTABLE AGAIN!

Painful intimacy during menopause?

There are treatments that can genuinely help! 💜

🌸 Lubricants can reduce friction during intimacy.

🌸 Moisturisers can help with everyday dryness and discomfort.

🌸 Low-dose local oestrogen can treat the tissue changes associated with GSM.

🌸 Pelvic health physiotherapy may help when pelvic floor problems contribute to pain.

And here’s my message…

Please don’t push through pain!

You don’t get a medal for putting up with discomfort down below. 😂

The right treatment depends on what’s causing your symptoms, so assessment matters.

You deserve comfort, confidence and a good quality of life.

Still on my Arbonne Fizz Sticks and still no Pepsi Zero 😳🙌 Nearly 2 months now — which is massive for me.

No miracle claims, just a simple swap that has really worked for me. I’m feeling great, looking after myself, drinking more water and genuinely loving how I feel. 💚✨

Want to try the Fizz Sticks or see what I’m using? Drop me a message and I’ll send you my Arbonne link.

💜 MENOPAUSE MAGIC MONDAY — WHEN INTIMACY HURTS!

Ladies, can we talk about something that far too many women put up with?

Pain during intimacy! 🌸

During perimenopause and menopause, falling oestrogen levels can affect delicate tissues down below.

The result?

🌸 Dryness
🌸 Soreness
🌸 Irritation
🌸 Discomfort or pain during intimacy

These can be symptoms of Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM).

But here’s the important bit…

Not all intimate pain is caused by menopause!

Other conditions can cause similar symptoms, so please don’t self-diagnose or suffer in silence.

Pain isn’t something you have to accept simply because you’re getting older!

Today is 💟

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) works to replace hormones that naturally decline during perimenopause and after menopause, helping to control the symptoms some women experience.

💜 SUNDAY SNEAK PEEK — MY MATE JANE, MENOPAUSE NURSE! 🎥

We’re continuing our PAIN IN FOCUS series for Menopause Awareness Month.

And next week, we’re talking about something far too many women suffer with in silence…

PAIN DOWN BELOW! 🌸

Soreness, dryness, discomfort during intimacy and persistent pelvic pain.

It’s not always easy to talk about, but it’s important that we do!

Here’s what’s coming:

💜 Menopause Manic Monday: Why can intimacy become painful during menopause?

💜 Wellness Wednesday: What can actually help? From lubricants and moisturisers to local hormone treatment.

💜 Feel Good Friday: When should pain, irritation or changes down below be checked?

As a menopause specialist nurse, I want women to understand that painful intimacy isn’t something you simply have to accept as part of getting older.

And remember my favourite message:

Don’t dismiss menopause — but don’t blame everything on it either!

No embarrassment. No judgement. Just straightforward, evidence-based advice with a little Yorkshire Gumption! 💪

“People!” 💜 If you follow Dr Vonda Wright, you’ll know how she likes to get our attention!

I find myself sharing this video more and more with people coming into my clinic. She explains weight and the forces going through our joints in such a clear, understandable way.

Having lived with severe osteoarthritis and had both hips replaced by 42, this is a subject close to my heart. Good explanations can help open up a conversation — without blame or judgement.

And something the nurse in me loves: she trained in nursing before becoming an orthopaedic surgeon. 👏

Well worth a watch 👇

🌸 BEYOND MENOPAUSE AWARENESS — WE NEED ACTION! 💜

After a busy morning delivering flu vaccinations at MayBush Medical Centre, I hot-footed it home to join Dr Saira Bano for our first Empower Wellbeing Collective CIC community event at Primrose Hall, Horbury.

☕ A cuppa, biscuits and some fantastic conversations!

We had a small turnout, and that was absolutely fine. Sometimes the most meaningful conversations happen around a small table.

But what we heard really mattered.

💜 People struggling to access GP appointments.

💜 Long waits for menopause, diabetes and weight-management reviews.

💜 Medication concerns and ongoing symptoms.

💜 People already attending support groups and awareness events, yet still unable to get the care they need.

And that’s the point. Awareness alone isn’t enough.

People don’t always need another leaflet or awareness session. Sometimes they need time with a knowledgeable healthcare professional who can understand the bigger picture and offer individualised advice.

Dr Bano and I both work in NHS general practice. We know the incredible work being done, but we also understand the pressures and frustrations on both sides.

This isn’t about criticising the NHS. It’s about listening to what people are telling us.

Through our Menopause Cafés, Rise & Thrive events, collaboration with Blossom Training & Development CIC and everyday clinical conversations, we’re learning so much from our communities.

We’re only just getting our CIC off the ground, and this was the first of many! 🌱

Small numbers. Big conversations. Real community engagement.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. ❤️

And on World Menopause Day, my message is:

Let’s move beyond awareness towards meaningful access to care.

A little Yorkshire gumption goes a long way! 💪
