Something that I've found coming up a lot recently with my clients is the cost of people-pleasing...
When saying yes to everyone else means saying no to yourself.
Ever said “yes” and immediately wished you’d said “no”?
Perhaps it’s fear of disappointing someone, avoiding conflict, or worrying about being seen as selfish.
But people-pleasing isn’t always about being kind. Sometimes, it’s about keeping others happy at the expense of your own wellbeing.
Over time, the cost can be significant:
- Exhaustion from putting everyone else first.
- Resentment towards people you care about.
- Losing touch with what you actually want.
- Feeling valued for what you do, rather than who you are.
Remember... You can be kind without abandoning yourself.
Learning to set boundaries, trust your own needs and feel comfortable saying no is possible. You don’t have to keep putting yourself last.
At Tonic Hypnotherapy, we can work together to explore the patterns behind people-pleasing and help you build greater confidence, self-trust and emotional freedom.
If this sounds familiar, get in touch for a confidential, no-pressure conversation about how hypnotherapy might help.
