We don’t yet know the exact science behind the Winter Blues or Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). However, research suggests that the lack of daylight hours during the Winter can affect the body in the following ways:

1. You produce higher levels of melatonin (the sleep hormone), which leaves you feeling tired and low on energy during the day.

2. You produce lower levels of serotonin (the happy hormone), which can lead to depression and poor-quality sleep.

So that’s a very quick overview. Now let’s get to the ‘good stuff’, what you can do about it! My blog contains nine practical tips and six of the most commonly prescribed Homeopathic remedy options. Have a read and see what resonates with you. The link is in my bio - I hope it helps!

Today is Blue Monday, which is thought to be the most depressing day of the year. Well, as luck would have it, it's lovely and sunny where I live today! That said, for the most part, we are experiencing a winter of dark mornings, dark evenings, fewer daylight hours, and freezing cold weather. Given these conditions, it’s not surprising that many of us suffer from low mood around this time of year. You may even notice that you have less energy, little motivation, zero interest in socialising, or you find it hard to get excited about the things you used to enjoy doing.

So, what can you do about it? I recommend you read my blog. I have included details of nine things that you can try to help alleviate your symptoms together with short summaries on six of the most commonly prescribed Homeopathic remedies. The chosen remedy is dependent on many factors, all of which are explained in my blog. I hope you find it helpful.

Setting goals can help you to focus on what really matters to you. Most of us have to set annual goals as part of our jobs. But why stop there? Our career is just one aspect of our life, it makes sense to carry this through into all areas. Not convinced? Below I've listed just a few of many reasons why you should give it a try this year...

CLARITY, DIRECTION & FOCUS
*Reflect and be clear on WHAT you want to do and WHY
*Put thoughts down on paper - make it real
*Prioritise your time and energy on this that really matter

MOTIVATION & DRIVE
*Get excited about the possibilities that lie ahead
*Counteract those 'negative nelly' thoughts that have previously held you back
*Follow a clear and well thought out path

ACTIONABLE STEPS & TIMELINE
*Avoid overwhelm and procrastination by breaking down the steps you need to take
*Know what you need to do each week, month, and quarter
*Realistic plan that you can stick to

ACHIEVEMENT & FULFILMENT
*Increase your happiness
*Feel good about yourself
*Be that person who sees things through and reaps the benefits

Check out my guide to setting life goals. It lays out the steps that you need to take to get started. https://www.homeopathyandcoaching.com/life-goals
