Jess joined the EHC family in February 2025, and what an absolute superstar she's turned out to be! 🌟

At just **21 years old**, Jess has a level of dedication, maturity and professionalism that is genuinely remarkable.

💙 **Everyone loves Jess!** Her colleagues adore her, our managers say she's an absolute dream to work with, and most importantly, the people she supports think the world of her!

And the feeling is completely mutual. Jess genuinely loves the people she cares for, and it shows in everything she does. ❤️

🌸 **When it comes to person-centred care, Jess just gets it!**

She understands that great care isn't simply about completing tasks. It's about knowing people, respecting their individuality, promoting their independence and making them feel genuinely valued.

She's naturally kind, thoughtful, patient and incredibly capable.

And did we mention how talented she is?! 😍

💅 Outside her full-time role at Essential Homecare, Jess also enjoys doing beauty treatments, nails and hair!

💷 She's also got a remarkably sensible head on her shoulders when it comes to managing her money. Beauty, brains AND financial savvy! What a combination! 👏

But what really makes Jess special isn't just her talent or her incredible work ethic.

📣 **WIGAN RESIDENTS—KNOW YOUR CARE RIGHTS**

Have you been told that you must accept the care provider arranged for you?

If you are eligible for council-funded adult social care, you can ask Wigan Council about receiving your personal budget as a **Direct Payment**. This can give you greater choice and control—including choosing who provides your care.

You should not feel pressured into believing that you have no say.

Ask these important questions:

✅ Am I eligible for a Direct Payment?
✅ Can I choose a different registered care provider?
✅ What choices are available to me?
✅ Who can help me make an informed decision?

The Care Quality Commission expects people to know their rights and have choice and control over their care. Wigan Council’s own information confirms that Direct Payments can allow eligible people to choose who provides their services.

We are incredibly proud to share the outcome of our recent CQC inspection — Essential Homecare has been officially rated GOOD overall, with OUTSTANDING in Well-Led! 💙⭐

The inspection report describes Essential Homecare as “one big family”—and that means so much to us because it perfectly reflects the culture we have worked hard to create.

Our managers lead with compassion, honesty and courage, while our care practitioners work tirelessly every day to provide safe, respectful and genuinely person-centred care. We care about the people we support, their families and one another.

The inspector was particularly impressed by our leadership and governance, commenting that she had never seen governance at this level. Receiving an Outstanding rating for Well-Led is wonderful recognition of the strong culture, systems, learning and teamwork behind everything we do.

Most importantly, this rating reflects the experiences of the people we support and their families. We are grateful to everyone who shared their views and continues to place their trust in us.

We are immensely proud of our managers, care practitioners and everyone who has supported Essential Homecare since we began. We have grown tremendously, but we have never lost sight of what matters most: caring for people properly and treating everyone as an individual.
