Advocacy can help address reproductive health challenges by providing young people with accurate and age-appropriate information about their reproductive health.
Youth-focused education can teach young women to recognise warning signs and understand when they should seek medical attention. For example, persistent pelvic pain, very heavy or irregular bleeding, unusual vaginal discharge, severe menstrual pain or unexplained changes in the menstrual cycle should not simply be ignored.
Menstrual health education is also an important part of advocacy.
Young women should have access to information and resources that enable them to manage menstruation safely and with dignity.
