18 years. One remarkable chair. ❤️

We’re delighted to announce that Macroom Community Hospital in Cork is the winner of our search for Ireland’s Oldest Therapeutic Chair.

Their Seating Matters Atlanta arrived in 2008 and, 18 years later, was still supporting patients every day.

For nearly two decades, that one chair has helped people sit more comfortably, support posture and pressure care, and stay connected with the people and moments that matter.

A huge thank you to the team at Macroom for recognising the value of therapeutic seating so early and for being such a valued long-term partner.

As promised, we’ve replaced their original chair with a brand-new Atlanta 2.

A great day in Tralee last week with the Kerry Community Occupational Therapists for one of our Mini Masterclasses at the Manor West Hotel.

These sessions are always a valuable opportunity to step away from individual products and focus on the clinical thinking behind effective seating - looking at posture, pressure management, assessment and how the right support can make a meaningful difference to comfort, function and quality of life.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their experiences and contributed to the discussion. It was great to spend the day exchanging knowledge with such an engaged group of clinicians.

When someone is living with dementia, comfort is not a small thing.

Neither is feeling secure, being well supported, or being able to sit in a position that makes eating, drinking and interacting with others easier.

Yet seating can sometimes be overlooked until there is a problem.

A person who is uncomfortable may not always be able to explain why. Poor positioning can contribute to sliding, fatigue, distress and reduced engagement - particularly for someone who cannot easily reposition themselves.

That is why the right seating matters.
