A slow Monday morning on the Shannon ☀️
Part of my Autumn intention is to be more intentional with my time and energy.
There is something about the changing of the seasons that invites us to pause.
To notice.
To ask ourselves: what do I need now?
Life has felt full lately. As a small business owner, there are always a hundred little things that need doing, and since buying my first home, there seems to be an equally long list of DIY jobs waiting for me too!
I know how easily I can slip into the habit of filling every moment. Working, planning, teaching, fixing, organising… always moving on to the next thing.
So this Autumn, I’m trying something different.
I’m choosing to be more intentional with my time, my energy and my attention.
Sometimes that looks like a slow Monday morning, out on the Shannon in the September sunshine with my siblings.
Sometimes it looks like putting everything else aside to paint, make something, or create simply because it brings me joy.
Sometimes it means resting without needing to justify it.
Ayurveda reminds us that we are not separate from the seasons. As the world around us changes, we too are invited to change our rhythms, our routines and the way we move through our days.
Autumn asks us to slow down a little.
To turn inward.
To simplify.
To notice what is nourishing and what is depleting.
And that is what I’m leaning into at the moment.
Not doing less because I should, but choosing more consciously what deserves my energy.
Because looking after ourselves isn’t something we have to squeeze into the spaces left over after everything else is done.
It is part of the practice. 🤍
So, this season, I’m choosing less rushing and more presence. Less doing for the sake of doing, and more intention behind where I place my energy.
If you are looking to slow down this season or do something for you, there's still room to join me for Yoga The Space Above Yoga Center on Tuesdays at 7:30pm or Kate In The Kitchen on Wednesdays at 6pm or 7:30pm. We'd love to see you.
