Dear Patients,
Reminder that our next flu/covid walk in clinic is this Thursday 15th October from 9.40am to 1245pm. This clinic is for everyone aged 60 and over or anyone under 60 immunocompromised.
It is also advised if you
are a healthcare worker
are pregnant
live in a nursing home or other long-term care facility
have regular contact with pigs, poultry or waterfowl
have a health condition and are age 6 months or older
live with someone who has a certain health condition
are a carer for someone who has a certain health condition

Dear Patients,
Our next flu/covid walk in clinic will be Thursday 15th October from 9.40am to 12.45pm.
We will offer a free flu vaccine to people with a higher risk of serious illness from flu.
People with these conditions can get a free flu vaccine:

chronic heart disease, including acute coronary syndrome
chronic liver disease
chronic kidney failure
chronic respiratory disease, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, moderate or severe asthma, or bronchopulmonary dysplasia
chronic neurological disease including multiple sclerosis, hereditary and degenerative disorders of the central nervous system
diabetes and other metabolic disorders (including inherited metabolic disorders)
Down syndrome
haemoglobinopathies - group of inherited blood disorders
a body mass index (BMI) over 40
immunosuppression due to disease or treatment (including asplenia or hyposplenism)
cancer
children with a moderate to severe neurodevelopmental disorder such as cerebral palsy
children on long-term aspirin therapy
serious mental health conditions

You can get a free flu vaccine if you:

are age 60 and older
are age 2 to 17
are a healthcare worker
are pregnant
live in a nursing home or other long-term care facility

are a carer for someone who has a certain health condition

Dear Patients,
We have 2 walk in flu/covid vaccine clinics today for all patients aged 65 and older.
Just walk in from 11:25am to 12:45pm or from 2.25pm to 5pm today.
Wear appropriate loose clothing around your arms.

Dear Patients,
Many thanks for your patience.
We managed to get a work around solution in place with the phones at 9.30am this morning and with our Internet and email at 12.30pm.
We are operating close to normal but have a backlog of work which we will work hard to clear over next few hours and days.

Dear Patients,
The major Athenry phone/Internet outage from yesterday continues to be an issue this morning.
We can still accept calls by ringing our normal number 091 844489, however there could be long delays. For anyone who feels they urgently need to be seen today, we are offering a walk in service this morning. Just present at main reception. There may be a delay in getting scripts to pharmacies. We are working on a solution for this.
We have no timelind for the phone and Internet issue to be fixed.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Dear Patients,
Unfortunately there is a line fault in our area of Athenry.
This has left us with no phone or Internet since 10;30am this morning.
Vodafone are working to rectify the issue.
In the meantime, we can still accept urgent calls but one at a time.
For a medical emergency, please call 999.
You can still send emails, but we won't receive them until issue is rectified.
We apologise for the inconvenience.

We are continuing to run additional clinics this week Monday to Thursday to assist the HSE deal with winter demand.

Dear Patients,
There is a lot of viral infection in the community at present and this is putting our resources under extreme pressure.
To cope with additional demand, we will be continuing with additional appointment capacity each evening from today 15th December for the remainder of this week. Patients may be asked to attend at a later time within these clinics.
