If you have PMDD, you know what it feels like to count the days until your period starts - not because you’re waiting for the cramps, but because you’re waiting to feel like yourself again.
That shift in the luteal phase can feel frighteningly real. For some people with PMDD, it can include hopelessness or suicidal thoughts. These thoughts are symptoms that deserve care - not a weakness, a personality flaw, or something you have to face alone. Research shows that PMDD is linked with a higher risk of suicidal thoughts, and symptoms often ease within a few days after a period begins.
On World Su***de Prevention Day, we want you to hear this clearly: what you’re feeling is real, support is available, and you deserve help now - even if part of you thinks you should just wait for it to pass.
Swipe to understand what may be happening, what can help, and where to find support. 💜
[If you may act on these thoughts or are in immediate danger, call your local emergency services.]
