Enlarged Testicles & Low S***m Count: Is There a Connection?
Did you know that varicocele can affect s***m count and overall s***m health?
Varicocele is a condition in which veins inside the sc***um become enlarged due to improper blood flow. It may cause the sc***um to appear swollen, enlarged, or heavier. However, an enlarged sc***um does not always mean the testicles themselves have increased in size.
How Can Varicocele Affect S***m Health?
Increased Testicular Temperature: Enlarged veins can interfere with temperature regulation, potentially affecting s***m production.
Reduced S***m Count: In some men, varicocele may affect testicular function and lower s***m count.
Poor S***m Motility: It may reduce s***m movement, which can impact fertility.
Changes in S***m Quality: Increased oxidative stress may affect s***m quality.
Important: Not every case of varicocele causes low s***m count or infertility. In some cases, the affected testicle may even become smaller.
If you notice testicular swelling, heaviness, discomfort, or difficulty conceiving, consult a urologist. A semen analysis can assess s***m count, motility, and morphology. A scrotal Doppler ultrasound may also be recommended.
