Rheumatoid arthritis affects only your joints? Think again! 🫁

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic inflammatory disease, which means it can affect parts of the body beyond the joints—including the lungs.

One important complication is Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). However, not every person with rheumatoid arthritis develops ILD.

🚩 Watch out for these warning signs:
- A persistent or recurring dry cough
- Gradually worsening breathlessness
- Getting unusually short of breath during exercise or everyday activities

Don’t automatically dismiss these symptoms as ageing, pollution, or asthma. If you have rheumatoid arthritis and notice these changes, discuss them with your rheumatologist. Lung function tests and a CT scan may be recommended when appropriate.

💙 Consistent rheumatoid arthritis treatment helps control inflammation and may reduce the risk of complications. Never change or stop your medication without medical advice.

Have rheumatoid arthritis? Remember that monitoring your overall health is just as important as managing joint symptoms. Save and share this post to spread awareness!

Rheumatoid arthritis hai, toh kya life bhar pain mein rehna padega? Not necessarily! 💙

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic disease, but that doesn’t mean you have to live with constant pain and inflammation.

🎯 The goal is remission—not just pain relief.

With the right diagnosis and effective treatment, inflammation can be brought down to minimal or even undetectable levels. This helps control symptoms and reduce the risk of long-term complications.

But what happens when you achieve remission? Your rheumatologist may consider gradually reducing medication or adjusting doses, depending on your condition. This must be done carefully because there is always a possibility of a flare.

✨ Remember:
- Start treatment early.
- Get the correct diagnosis from a rheumatologist.
- Follow your treatment plan consistently.
- Never stop or reduce your medicines on your own, even if you feel better.

Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can make a real difference to your long-term joint health and quality of life. 🩺

Methotrexate is known as a cancer drug. So why is it prescribed for rheumatoid arthritis? 🤔

If you’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), your rheumatologist may prescribe methotrexate. But don’t let what you find on Google create unnecessary fear!

💊 Methotrexate is used differently in rheumatology. At low doses, it helps control inflammation, reduce joint pain and swelling, and prevent long-term joint damage.

It is a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD)—not a painkiller or a steroid. It is commonly prescribed once a week, with the dose adjusted according to your response and tolerance.

🩺 Before starting treatment, blood tests are important to assess your liver and kidney health. Regular monitoring during treatment is equally essential to help ensure safe use.

Never stop, change, or start methotrexate on your own. Always follow your rheumatologist’s instructions and discuss any concerns with your doctor.

💬 Have questions about methotrexate? Leave them in the comments or discuss them with your rheumatologist.
