This World Sight Day , let’s make eye health a priority.

Through our School Eye Health Project, ETI have seen that eye health is never only about eyesight. It shapes how a child learns, how they see themselves, and whether they believe they belong in the classroom.

That is why we hold on to one belief: every child has the right to see clearly and live fully. Restoring sight means dignity, inclusion, and the courage to dream.

This year’s World Sight Day asks us to and to act together as communities. We are glad to be part of that, one classroom at a time.

On 30th September, ETI conducted a training session for volunteers and a mental health workshop for students, in collaboration with Pune Climate Warrior (PCW), CMHLP and Sfurthi Foundation.

The volunteer training session covered how to spot early signs of distress, listen without judging, know when to refer a child to a teacher or counsellor, and help children turn climate anxiety into hope and action.

That afternoon, activity based session for around 300 students of Classes 7 and 8 was conducted at Bharati Vidya Bhavan Sulochana Natu Vidya Mandir.

Thank you to the students , staff and the volunteers who gave their time.

Thank you to team of Pune Climate Warriors, CMHLP and Sfurti Foundation .

September is ending but the conversation around su***de prevention doesn’t have to get wrapped along with it. Awareness and learning need to carry on through us because that is what keeps this work alive. Small, regular and validating conversations at home, in our institutions, classrooms and workplaces are all what make it easier and going.

Dealing with a hard time alone rarely makes it lighter. Talking to someone and letting people in usually works. Asking for help and being open about how we feel makes it easier for others to notice and navigate us.

At ETI, we are committed to making these conversations part of our everyday lives, through advocacy and outreach keeping this work sustainable, inclusive and accessible.

September is ending, but the conversation around su***de prevention shouldn’t end with it. Awareness and learning need to carry on through us because that is what keeps this work going.

Small, regular and validating conversations at home, in classrooms and our workplaces are all what make it easier and matter. Dealing with a hard time alone rarely makes it lighter. Talking to someone and letting people in usually does. Asking for help and being open about how we feel makes it easier for others to notice and step in.

At ETI, we are determined to make these conversations a real part of everyday life, through advocacy and other initiatives that keep this work sustainable and accessible.

Some rooms stay with you. 🤍

Yesterday team ETI was at Pondicherry University and the Community College for conducting session “Mental Health Matters: Navigating Emotional Well-being in College Life” but this turned into so much more than a session.

This was designed to be an interactive activity based event and not just another lecture on mental health. We wanted students to feel it, not just hear about it. And they did. Some students opened up in ways that surprised us , sharing, questioning, laughing and reflecting.

While some other sat quietly, taking it all in at their own pace. Both sides matter and that’s how mental health conversations need to be .

A heartfelt thank you to the Pondicherry University and the Community College for welcoming us so warmly, and to every faculty and student who made space for this conversation. Thank you for trusting us.

Once again a reminder to all students out there , it’s okay not to be okay …..

Words carry weight, especially when academic pressure builds up. Shifting the narrative from comparison and performance to empathy and mental well-being creates space for real growth. Changing how we speak to students can change how they view their worth. Let’s choose support over pressure
