Think one samosa can’t hurt? It probably won’t. Eating it every day might.
If you enjoy a samosa once in a while—like a weekly cheat meal—it’s generally not a problem. The real issue starts when it becomes a daily habit.
Most samosas are deep-fried, which increases calories and oxidized fats. They’re also made with refined flour (maida), causing faster blood sugar spikes and providing very little fibre. Regular intake can lead to a calorie surplus, making fat gain more likely over time. It may also increase the risk of insulin resistance, high LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, elevated triglycerides, and heart disease—especially when paired with an inactive lifestyle.
The problem isn’t the samosa. It’s the frequency. Eat it occasionally, not habitually. Your body responds to your overall eating pattern, not a single meal.
