This Birth Center here in Okinawa is a very special place. It’s where one of my sons was born and where I have the pleasure of supporting births from time to time. I’m excited and grateful to see Yui Clini expanding to serve even more women and families. If you’re looking for a worthwhile cause - this is surely one!

Birth cannot wait.

Since 2011, YUI Clinic in Okinawa has welcomed about 2,500 babies. Now we’re building a New Wing so we can support even more families, with expanded delivery rooms, private inpatient rooms, more space for breastfeeding support, and a pediatric clinic.

Our first crowdfunding goal is ¥5 million, and every contribution helps us start construction. We’d be so grateful for your support.

I take a photo of each client's placenta for them and urge them to take a moment to look at and appreciate this whole organ that they grew 🥰 Many times I have seen OBs and Midwives show and explain the parts and function of the placenta to the mother who just birthed it! It might seem strange or look "gross" but it is a really cool thing and I think you should see and understand this part of childbirth.

It’s fall y’all 🍂 and I’m reflecting with deep gratitude on a really stellar summer ☀️

I was invited into some wonderful teaching and sharing opportunities in some birth preparation workshops. ‘Ride the Wave’ with Humanmade and ‘Birth Together’ with Adriesa Haruka

I was able to connect with some of the Doulas that supported me through the birth of my youngest and have remained special to me 5 years later.

I was able to learn and connect with the community through Kel McK Fit and the monthly Birth Talk hosted by Japan Birth Resource Network

And the cherry on top of this summer of blended birth work was supporting the successful VBAC of a really special client who is now a real life friend ✨🫶🏻

There were many beautiful sunsets taken in while brainstorming with birth workers, coffee chats and info exchanges, social moments and hugs, backup and virtual support provided. I know I’m tooting my own horn a little but dang I’m just so excited by and grateful for what the last few months were.

Now onto an on-call birthful fall 🍁✨

Trying something new for 2027 due dates ✨

I’ll be pulling back from physically attending births but still want to offer hybrid support to the birthing families of Okinawa.

Prenatally, our journey together looks the same as it always has but instead of being in your birth space on the big day I would support you from a distance with unlimited texts, voice memo and video calls.

Here’s what you can expect for the in-person part of this support:

✨ 3 prenatal meetings for childbirth education and preparation

✨ on call for you starting at 37 weeks, ready to answer your calls and begin virtual support at any time

✨ 1 in person postpartum check in after your birth
