In the treatment of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), the right transition between therapeutic feeds is very important for recovery.
After starting with F-75 during the stabilization phase, if the child has regained appetite and has no swallowing complications, we can transition directly to RUTF (Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food) instead of F-100 — especially when preparing for outpatient care.
Did you know?
🥜 One sachet of RUTF (92 g) provides approximately 500 kcal.
That’s a powerful, nutrient-dense formula designed to support rapid weight gain and recovery.
Therapeutic feeding saves lives, and proper assessment ensures children receive the right feed at the right time.
