TURNING PATIENT FEEDBACK INTO ACTION! 🏥✨
From 6–9 October 2026, the Learning Centre for Quality Management (LCQM) supported the district-based dissemination of Patient Satisfaction Survey results in Ntcheu, Dedza, Mchinji and Lilongwe districts.
The programme was led by the Ministry Of Health - Malawi through the Quality Management Directorate (QMD) and Reproductive Health Department (RHD) and implemented by GIZ Malawi ,with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The sessions brought together key district and health facility stakeholders to reflect on patients’ experiences of healthcare, recognize areas of good performance, identify priority gaps, and develop practical and measurable quality improvement actions.
This activity was important because quality healthcare goes beyond the availability of services and technical competence. It also includes how patients experience care how they are treated, communicated with, respected and listened to, as well as the accessibility and environment of care.
By translating patient feedback into practical actions, the initiative contributes to strengthening people-centered, respectful and responsive healthcare, while ensuring that patients’ voices are meaningfully incorporated into ongoing quality improvement efforts.
