A new chapter in grassroots healthcare delivery unfolds in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State with the commissioning of a newly constructed Cottage Hospital.

The project, commissioned by the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, is part of ongoing efforts to bring quality and accessible healthcare services closer to communities across the State.

The event also featured the enrolment of over 200 residents into the Delta State Contributory Health Scheme, further strengthening access to affordable healthcare and advancing the State’s commitment to Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC) commends the Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, for his contribution to expanding healthcare access at the grassroots. In recognition of his commitment, he was presented with a Health Insurance Ambassador Award by the DG/CEO of DSCHC, Olorogun Dr. Isaac Akpoveta.

The Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC) visited Agbarho Hospital to monitor the healthcare services provided to pregnant women enrolled under the Commission’s Equity Programme.

The Equity Programme provides free healthcare services to pregnant women and children under five, supporting the State’s commitment to ensuring access to quality healthcare for those who need it most.

During the visit, the DSCHC team engaged with pregnant women receiving care at the facility, monitored the services being provided and listened to their experiences and testimonies on accessing healthcare under the programme.

The testimonies reaffirm the impact of the programme in making quality maternal healthcare accessible at no cost to beneficiaries.

DSCHC remains committed to strengthening healthcare delivery, improving maternal and child health outcomes, and advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) across Delta State.

The Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC) has commended the Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, for enrolling 200 residents into the Delta State Contributory Health Scheme.

The enrolment took place during the flag-off of the newly constructed Cottage Hospital in Oshimili North, commissioned by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme.

The initiative reflects a strong commitment to expanding access to quality and affordable healthcare at the grassroots and advancing the State’s drive towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

In recognition of his contribution to improving healthcare access through health insurance, Hon. Innocent Esewezie was presented with a Health Insurance Ambassador Award by the DG/CEO of DSCHC, Olorogun Dr. Isaac Akpoveta.

The Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC) was proud to participate in the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026, where we showcased our commitment to expanding access to quality and affordable healthcare for all Deltans.

It was an honour to welcome His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, and His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, CON, former Governor of Delta State, to the DSCHC exhibition booth.

Our Director-General/CEO, Olorogun Dr. Isaac O. Akpoveta, had the privilege of presenting the Commission's achievements, innovative health insurance initiatives, and remarkable progress towards Universal Health Coverage in Delta State.
