✈️ From Egbe, Kogi State, to South Florida: A Story of Impact, Legacy and Healthcare
Sometimes, the impact of a healthcare mission extends far beyond the walls of a hospital.
We were inspired by the remarkable story of Don Campion, founder and CEO of Banyan Air Service in South Florida, whose Nigerian journey began in Egbe, Kogi State, where his parents served through the SIM/ECWA mission and helped establish ECWA Hospital Egbe.
Today, Don leads a world-class aviation operation in Fort Lauderdale, yet his connection to Nigeria and to ECWA has never faded.
About 15 years ago, he took on the challenge of supporting the rehabilitation of ECWA Hospital Egbe. Through his leadership, funding and fundraising efforts, the hospital has undergone significant transformation. His ongoing support now includes efforts to provide reliable solar power with battery storage and to rehabilitate the mission airstrip — strengthening both healthcare delivery and access to the facility.
What a powerful reminder that the seeds planted through mission work can produce impact across generations and across borders.
At ECWA Medical Services, we are proud to be part of a legacy that continues to evolve — advancing quality, accessible and sustainable healthcare delivery across Nigeria through our hospitals, comprehensive clinics, healthcare professionals and strategic partnerships.
The story of ECWA Hospital Egbe and the continued commitment of people like Don Campion demonstrate something important: when healthcare, compassion, leadership and community come together, the impact can reach far beyond what we initially imagine.
From Egbe to Fort Lauderdale, this is more than a story about aviation or healthcare.
It is a story about legacy, service and the enduring power of the ECWA mission.
We celebrate everyone contributing to the advancement of healthcare in Nigeria and salute the remarkable strides being made to build stronger, more sustainable health systems for the communities we serve.
