Following the Paris ONCA Nutritional Care Policy Summit 2026, Vice-President Negrescu shared a video message highlighting the growing recognition of nutritional care at the European policy level and the importance of maintaining momentum for change.

Over two days, patients, healthcare professionals, policymakers and partners came together to discuss how nutritional care can be better integrated into healthcare systems across Europe. From advancing policy priorities to supporting initiatives such as improved undernutrition coding, the discussions reinforced that nutrition must be recognised as an essential component of healthcare.

Today, Dr Nada Rotovnik Kozjek, Director of the Intestinal Failure Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia, speaks about one of the biggest challenges in intestinal failure: low awareness, not only among the general public but also within healthcare systems.

⚠️ When awareness is low, timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment become much more difficult.
