Just as nature in autumn releases what it no longer needs, this is a beautiful time to pause and ask yourself: What am I ready to release? What wants to soften? What would it feel like to simply let life be?

Let It Be is a self-paced online retreat created as a gentle space to come home to yourself, to breathe fully, release what no longer serves you, and reconnect with your natural rhythm of receiving and allowing the process of letting go. Through gentle movement, reflection and nourishing practices, you are invited to create more spaciousness, clarity and presence within.

You can follow the retreat whenever you feel called to pause, soften and reconnect. Let this autumn be a moment to release, receive and simply Let It Be.

If you feel drawn to this experience, leave a 🍂 in the comments and I’ll send you more information or follow the link to discover everything about this retreat for you ♡

Imagine everyone lying in Savasana during a yoga class.
The room is quiet. Still. Peaceful.

And then.... "ACHOO!"

One loud sneeze.

And suddenly, everyone’s experience can be completely different.

One person feels compassion. Another gets irritated. Someone feels startled. The person who sneezed might feel embarrassed, wondering if they disturbed everyone’s peace.

The interesting part isn’t the sneeze itself. It’s everything that happens around it, in the mind, in the body, in the emotions.

A sound becomes “How annoying.”
A sensation becomes “I don’t want this.”
A moment becomes a whole story.

And this is where yoga becomes practice.

Not when everything is quiet and comfortable, but in the moment something happens that we didn’t want to happen, and we notice how quickly the mind reacts.

Maybe we can pause and simply notice:

There is a sound.
The body tenses.
I experience irritation.
A thought appears.
And I can see it.

Maybe that space between what happens and the story we create around it is where the practice lives.

So perhaps yoga isn't when you are peacefully resting in Savasana.

Perhaps it begins the moment your peace gets disturbed.

Have you ever noticed your mind creating a whole story around something that, in itself, was actually very small?

An inquiry I currently find myself returning to again and again.

For a long time, I carried a certain kind of numbness that from the outside looked like calmness, but for me, was a survival mechanism. Not feeling felt safer.

Now, my calmness feels different. More grounded. More open and allowing. More present. And yet I keep asking myself: has the old pattern truly changed, or has it simply become more subtle?

For me, that is the interesting inquiry. To keep looking.

Because spirituality can teach us to be present with what is, but it can also, sometimes very subtly, become a way of not having to feel.

Maybe that is the uncomfortable question to keep asking ourselves:

When does my spirituality help me to honestly be more deeply present with my experience? And when does it help me escape it?

Sometimes life can move you from one side to the other in a single moment. From lightness to sadness. From calm to unrest. From “everything is okay” to something that touches you deeply.

The art is to take your place in the encounter with whatever presents itself.

Because life will always keep moving. Ups and downs.

But how are we allowed to take our place within it?

From resistance?
From aversion?
From longing, grasping, fighting, or pushing?
By abandoning ourselves?

Or may we remain present with what is?

Sit beside it.
Listen.
Feel.
Don’t immediately try to fix it.
Don’t push it away.
Don’t pretend it isn’t there.

Yesterday, I recognized an old pattern in myself: keep going. Don’t feel. Take action. I can’t make space for this right now, because I still have to teach a class.

So my first impulse was: keep going. Put on a smile. Shoulders back.

And yet, something else happened.

I no longer gave myself the task of pretending that nothing was wrong.

I was allowed to stay with myself, rather than abandon myself.

While I was standing in front of the group, I felt:

Now I am here. With you. Fully present in this moment.

And at the same time, I knew:

Later, when I am home, I will give myself the space to feel what this has touched in me. To let this part flow.

Perhaps that is an important distinction for me.

Being present does not mean that we have to feel, express, or process everything in every moment.

Sometimes it simply means that we can say:

I see you. I feel that you are here. Now is not the moment, but I am not leaving you behind. I will come back to you. I will come back and sit beside you.

What if commitment isn’t about pushing harder or maybe leaving to soon?

What if it’s about finding the middle:
staying present, staying curious,
and choosing to stay with yourself, with love.

Can we keep on showing up for ourselves and meet ourselves in the middle, with a commitment rooted in love?

Gedurende september komen we elke ochtend 5–15 minuten samen.

‘Mag jij jezelf hier ontmoeten?’

Doe jij ook mee? Comment 'september'
