🔥 Something a little different today at Evolve Ink West Coast! 🔥

Had the opportunity to create and tattoo this custom New Zealand hawk piece today! 🦅🇳🇿

Just to be clear, this is NOT traditional Māori tā moko or traditional Pacific Island tattooing. It's simply a custom design inspired by some of those visual elements, combined with the NZ hawk. I don't claim to be a tā moko artist, and this is well outside my usual style.

That being said, I really enjoyed the challenge and I'm stoked with how it turned out! 💪🖤

I enjoy showing a bit of versatility, especially being a tattooist in a smaller town. It's always good to step outside the comfort zone and try something different!

🔥 EVOLVE INK WEST COAST – ALWAYS EVOLVING! 🔥

Well, this has been a long time coming! 🤘🖤

Over the past few weeks (probably months 😂), I've been working towards a personal goal of creating 10 larger-scale tattoo concepts that represent the direction I want to take my artwork!

My main focus has been neo-traditional black & grey — bold, clean designs, strong linework, good contrast and plenty of flow!

💀 Less is more! Simple tattoos done well!

Most of these concepts are intended for black & grey, but some would look wicked with subtle colour or even full colour!

🎨 A little about the process...

I use AI for references and mock-ups, alongside digital drawing on my iPad. But these aren't just quick AI-generated images! I've spent a lot of time developing ideas, refining linework, simplifying compositions and putting my own spin on things.

These are still concepts, and each design would be personally redrawn and refined to suit the client's body and placement.

🔥 THE GOAL?

To keep growing as an artist and develop a style that people recognise as my own!

Bigger, bolder, cleaner tattoos with strong compositions that stand the test of time!

This is the direction I'd love to take Evolve Ink and the type of artwork I want to become known for! 🖤

Of course, I'm still happy to take on realism, colour, fine line, cover-ups and all the awesome ideas you guys bring me!

I'm simply sharing what I've been working towards and where I want to head as an artist.

If any of these concepts catch your eye, I'd absolutely love to bring them to life on skin! 🤘🔥
