Leading up to this year's election we asked the political parties about their policies relating to Cannabis.

Of the 8 parties we asked, the Greens, Labour, Te Pati Maori and Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party answered. National replied that they didn't have time to answer, and no replies were received from Opportunity, New Zealand First or Act.

The first question we asked was about New Zealand's Medicinal Cannabis Scheme.
Check out the images to see what they said.

Rua is going to be popping up at the Gisborne Farmers Market this Saturday 24 October so that Te Tairawhiti locals can join the revolution by growing their own h**p this season.

We'll be selling Rua-raised h**p clones for $25 each and will be on hand to answer all your questions about the new h**p regulations that came into effect in May this year, which means that anyone can now grow h**p legally in Aotearoa New Zealand, and about h**p in general.

Come by and say hi!

We've got a big week coming up and Rua invites our shareholders and community to join us.

Our Annual Shareholders Meeting is on Tuesday, and our Open Day at the Mangaoporo Research Facility is on Thursday.

The 2026 Annual Meeting of Rua Bioscience Limited (Rua) will be held virtually via Computershare’s online meeting platform at 3pm on Tuesday, 20 October 2026.
All details can be found here: https://www.ruabio.com/events

Rua's Open Day is all about giving our community the opportunity to see, hear and smell what we have been up to these past 12 months. We'll talk you through our genetics and psilocybe cultivation programmes, share the story behind our export-led strategy as well as our local initiatives including our compassionate access and impact programmes.

We are excited to have feminised clones or cuttings of two of our C*D varieties to gift to attendees.

Afterwards we’ll have a kai and tour of the facility.

Please RSVP to [email protected] to help with catering.

See you there!

It's a big moment for Rua. Our revenue is up 71 percent. We've signed a $10 million UK deal. We've opened new markets in Canada and Czech Republic and there's a growing demand for our products here in Aotearoa.

To keep this exciting momentum, we're asking existing shareholders to take part in a
capital raise, which closes tomorrow. The funds we raise will go straight into working capital, to meet this demand, and grow our sales.

Auckland whanau, got plans this Saturday?

Sow the Seed Vol. 2 is on at Whakamana Cannabis Museum, 12pm til late.

What is Sow the Seed? It's a big beautiful medley of art, live music, DJs, food, tattoos and h**p!

Rua's head cultivator Porou is going to be there to talk all things h**p. Now that the regulations have changed and anyone can grow h**p (low THC Cannabis Sativa), Rua is keen to help people get to grips with both the plant and the updated regulations.

Why would you want to grow h**p? Head along to Sow the Seed, find your way to Porou for a korero and see for yourself.

Rua has today announced the signing of a distribution and licence agreement with PharmAla under which, Rua will import, distribute and sell PharmAla’s pharmaceutical-grade M**A in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

The psychoactive compound best known in a recreational setting as “ecstasy” is administered medically in a highly controlled environment and is being used as a companion to psychotherapy for conditions including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The agreement follows Medsafe’s approval of two psychiatrists to prescribe pharmaceutical-grade M**A for PTSD. This is a big development in New Zealand’s emerging psychedelic-assisted therapy sector as the sector moves from the margins into mainstream clinical practice. For people whose conditions have not responded to conventional treatment, these medicines offer a new option, delivered under strict clinical supervision.

Rua has built its business on the safe, compliant supply of controlled medicines and this agreement adds a second regulated medicine to Rua’s portfolio, opening a new revenue opportunity without significant additional investment, consistent with Rua’s capital-light strategy.

Rua will supply LaNeo™ M**A to authorised prescribers in New Zealand. The first shipment will be supplied on a consignment basis, enabling Rua to enter the market with minimal upfront capital.

PharmAla is one of the first companies in the world to manufacture GMP-grade M**A. It supplies clinical trials and authorised prescribers internationally, including in Australia, where authorised psychiatrists have prescribed M**A since 2023.

Rua has a long-standing interest in this field. It supports Tū Wairua, an Indigenous-led clinical study at Rangiwaho Marae in Te Tairāwhiti that explores the potential of psilocybin-containing taonga fungi to help people overcome methamphetamine addiction. That work reflects Rua’s belief that well-researched, culturally grounded and properly regulated medicines can bring meaningful benefit to whanau and communities.
