Celebrating Excellence in Zu Qigong: Congratulations to Maria MacGregor!

We are delighted to share a major milestone for our training community.

A huge congratulations to Maria, based in Christchurch, New Zealand, on completing her full qualification as a Zu Qigong Practitioner.

This is a milestone close to our hearts, as Maria marks our first fully qualified practitioner since stepping into stewardship of Zu Qigong following Elspeth in 2024.

Maria has demonstrated exceptional dedication, depth of understanding, and clinical care throughout her training.

We are so excited to see her bring Zu Qigong to the South Island and support her local community in health and well-being.

Please join us in celebrating Maria’s achievement!

This is something Elspeth Fare shared with the reflexology world in 2013. Bit by bit science is catching up to explain it.

In a groundbreaking discovery, scientists have revealed that fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and supports every organ, muscle, and cell in the body, forms a quantum electromagnetic network. This network plays a crucial role in communication throughout the body, potentially acting as the primary system for transmitting information, even surpassing the traditional role of the nervous system.

Fascia, once thought to merely provide structural support, is now recognized for its far-reaching influence on the bodys functions. The quantum electromagnetic signals it produces help coordinate cell-to-cell communication, influencing everything from movement to immune responses. This discovery could completely redefine how we understand the bodys communication systems, suggesting that fascia acts as a fast, efficient, and widespread network connecting all cells.

This new insight has implications for various medical fields, including pain management, movement disorders, and chronic illness. Researchers believe that understanding how fascia interacts with cells on a quantum level could lead to innovative treatments for conditions like fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and even neurological diseases.

The revelation that fascia serves as a primary communication system is a major step forward in the study of human anatomy and could revolutionize how we approach healthcare. It underscores the complexity of the human body and the interconnectedness of all its systems.

What are your thoughts on this potential new role for fascia? How could this change our approach to medicine in the future?

The Yin & Yang Qiao Mai (Motility Vessels) are two Extraordinary Vessels connecting your lower extremities directly to your eyes, brain, and nervous system.

🌙 Yin Qiao Mai (KD 6 / Medial Ankle): Governs rest, sleep, inward calming, and medial muscle tone.

☀️ Yang Qiao Mai (BL 62 / Lateral Ankle): Governs wakefulness, daytime alertness, vitality, and lateral balance.

In Practice: Together, they act as our energetic biological clock.

Working with these master points through Zu Qigong helps restore harmony between rest and activity from the ground up! 🌿

The only meridian that runs horizontally! 🌀

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Dai Mai (Belt Vessel) wraps around your waist like a sash. Unlike the other channels that run up and down, the Dai Mai acts like an anchor, holding all your vertical energy pathways in place.

If you've been feeling physically scattered, ungrounded, or disconnected from your center, giving a little love to your waistline—through gentle stretching, self-massage, or breathwork—can help bring back structural and energetic harmony.

Have you ever explored the extraordinary vessels? Let’s chat in the comments! 👇

Unlock Your Vital Energy: The Three Dan Tian

In Qigong, Zu Qigong and traditional Chinese practices, the body is powered by three primary energy centers known as the
Dan Tian (meaning "Elixir Field"):

1. Lower Dan Tian (Elixir Field):
Located just below the navel, this is the foundational powerhouse of physical vitality, root energy, and the center of gravity and breath.

2. Middle Dan Tian: Located in the center of the chest (heart center), this is the seat of emotional balance, compassion, and spiritual heart energy.

3. Upper Dan Tian: Located in the center of the head (the third eye area), this is the center of higher consciousness, intuition, and mental clarity.

By bringing your awareness to these three centers during meditation, you can cultivate a deeper harmony of body, breath, and spirit. 🌿✨

🧘 What is the Microcosmic Orbit?

The practice involves connecting and circulating Qi through two of the main extraordinary meridians:

The Governing Vessel (Du Mai): Runs up the centerline of the back (Yang channel).
The Conception Vessel (Ren Mai): Runs down the centerline of the front of the body (Yin channel).

The goal is to create a complete, continuous loop of energy: starting from the Dantian (lower abdomen energy center), moving down to the base of the spine, up the back along the spine to the crown of the head, and then down the front of the body, returning to the Dantian.

Did you know a simple shift of your tongue can close your energy circuit? 🌿✨

The Microcosmic Orbit connects the Du Mai (governing Yang Qi in the back) and the Ren Mai (governing Yin Qi in the front).

Placing the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth right behind your front teeth acts like a "magpie bridge," linking Yin and Yang together to complete the circuit.

Quick Breakdown of the Cycles:
Water Cycle (Yin): Qi flows up the front and down the back, helping to relax the nerves down the spine and open intuition.

Fire Cycle (Yang): Qi flows up the back and down the front, awakening awareness and building life initiative.

This practice protects your energy field and integrates the three Dan Tians (head, chest, and lower abdomen) connecting your zones of thinking, feeling, and will. 💫

Have you ever tried placing your tongue this way during meditation?

Keep an eye out over the next few days for a guided Microcosmic Orbit Meditation 🧘‍♀️
