Need hearing aids, but worried about the cost? 🦻

Applications are now open for the NFDHH Hearing Aid Fund, which supports eligible hard of hearing New Zealanders experiencing financial hardship to purchase new hearing aids.

Eligible individuals can apply for a grant of up to $500 towards new hearing aids.

We know cost can be one of the biggest barriers to getting hearing support. This fund is here to help make that next step a little more possible. Funding is limited, and once the allocated funding has been fully awarded, applications will close, so we encourage people to apply early.

Not sure if you qualify? Visit our website to check the criteria and find out more. Apply now via the link in bio or on our website.

Some great tips here, not just for the deaf and hard of hearing, but for anyone who wants to protect their long-term ear health.

How do you protect your ears?

Everyday sounds can add up — but a few simple habits can make a big difference to your hearing health.

✅ Keep the volume below halfway
✅ Take listening breaks (5 minutes every hour)
✅ Use earplugs at loud events
✅ Enjoy quiet time
✅ Watch for warning signs like ringing or sore ears
✅ Get regular hearing check-ups

Safe listening isn’t just for musicians or concert-goers — it’s for everyone.

Which of these habits do you already have — and which could you start this week?

At Healthy Ears, we prefer microsuction because it lets us see exactly what we're doing under a microscope.

Instead of flushing the ear with water and hoping for the best, we remove wax carefully with full vision of your inner ear.

Did you know that not all ear cleaning services are carried out by nurses?

At Healthy Ears, our clinicians are Registered Nurses with specialist training in ear health. So, not only do we know how to clean ears safely, but we're also trained to recognise anything else that may need attention.
