I’m away visiting my brand new nephew (did I mention I have a new nephew? 😂) and Dad and I are staying at a lovely little campground in Welcome Bay. How is this for a morning view!

My 12 years old is staying with my Mum and has come down with suspected Mumps/Glandular Fever.

I got my copy of Barbara’s book when I met up with her on Tuesday. What a perfect time to look at the Mumps section!

I’m off to meet my nephew this week! I’ll be back in the clinic from Wednesday 7th October.

Woodcutting season is nearly over. Lucky for me, as I don't seem to be able to be trusted with an axe. Here's where I chopped my finger with an axe a few weeks ago.
(There's a pic from the day after that's pretty gruesome — I've left it out here, but if you want to see it, comment "show me" and I'll pop it in your DMs.)

I took Arnica, Hypericum, and Ledum.

The doctor's visit was straightforward the next day, and I had three further visits for bandage changes with the gorgeous nurses. By the third I was discharged — no antibiotics, no infection, clean and healing well. Today you can see exactly where I chopped it, the nail's just growing back in, and it feels completely normal.

This is a good example, for me, of why I love having homoeopathy in my first aid kit. A finger injury sure is inconvenient when you're a busy Mum! Or a person that uses their hands.....

Straight after I bandaged it, I went back out and finished chopping the wood (yep, really). That "I'm fine, keep going" kind of shock is an Arnica picture, which I'd already taken. I was very aware that I was in shock though. When I looked in the mirror my face was white as a sheet, so I took Aconite as well to help settle my nervous system back down.

In my experience, homoeopathy sits alongside medical treatment really well — I've used it alongside naturopathy, osteopathy, dentistry, surgery, and childbirth.

Exciting new research on my fave remedy! 😍

New research sheds a bright light on the wound healing effects of Arnica montana...

Objectives
This study aimed to determine whether different homeopathic potencies of A. montana induce distinct, potency-specific effects on fibroblast proliferation, migration, and wound healing–related protein expression in vitro.

Methods
3T3-L1 fibroblasts were treated with 6q, 30cH, or 200cH potencies of A. montana for up to 72 hours. Cell morphology was assessed by phase-contrast microscopy; viability and proliferation by MTT assay; and wound closure by scratch-wound migration assay. Laminin, fibronectin, fibroblast growth factor (FGF), and transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1) protein levels were quantified using ELISA and immunocytochemistry. Control groups included untreated medium and vehicle (unsuccussed solvent).

Results
Scratch-wound assays demonstrated a marked, potency-specific enhancement of fibroblast migration and wound closure following treatment with A. montana, with the 200cH potency inducing the most rapid and complete closure over 72 hours. These functional effects were accompanied by increased fibroblast proliferation at later time points and higher intracellular levels of laminin, fibronectin, FGF and TGF-β1 protein, particularly in the 200cH group, while cell morphology remained unaffected across all conditions.

Conclusion
Among the tested potencies, A. montana 200cH showed the greatest stimulatory effect on fibroblast proliferation, migration, and wound healing-related protein expression. This study provides the first comparative evaluation of multiple A. montana potencies in a fibroblast wound-healing model, suggesting a potential potency-associated cellular response in vitro.
