๐Ÿ“š Strengthening Ethical and Responsible Health Research

The Health Research and Development Consortium โ€“ CALABARZON (HRDCC) successfully conducted its Basic Research Ethics Training (BRET) on September 8โ€“9, 2026 at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City.

The two-day training brought together participants from HRDCC member institutions for an engaging learning experience focused on strengthening their knowledge and skills in research ethics, ethical protocol review, informed consent, risk-benefit assessment, justice, research ethics governance, Institutional Research Ethics Committees (RECs), review processes, researcher responsibilities, and emerging issues such as Artificial Intelligence in research.

The activity featured distinguished resource speakers:

Through plenary sessions, group discussions, protocol exercises, case analyses, and open forums, participants gained practical insights into applying research ethics principles and navigating the national and institutional research ethics processes.

The training contributes to the continued capacity-building of HRDCC Research Ethics Committees (RECs) and strengthens collaboration, coordination, and commitment among member institutions toward the conduct of scientifically sound, ethically responsible, and participant-centered health research.

The Health Research and Development Consortium - CALABARZON (HRDCC) successfully held its 2026 First Semester Advisory Board Meeting on May 18, 2026, at Abagatan ti Manila, Alfonso, Cavite. The meeting brought together representatives from member institutions and partner agencies to discuss the consortiumโ€™s priorities, plans, and collaborative initiatives for advancing health research in the CALABARZON region.

This gathering also marked a significant milestone as it became the first HRDCC Advisory Board Meeting hosted by DOST CALABARZON as the consortiumโ€™s new implementing agency. The transition highlights DOST CALABARZONโ€™s strengthened commitment to fostering innovation, research collaboration, and evidence-based health programs across the region.

One of the major highlights of the meeting was the ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜„ ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ who will help steer the consortiumโ€™s future initiatives:
