Mr Health Drinking alcohol 🍻every day can have short-term and long-term effects on your body and overall health. Here’s what can happen:
🔹 Short-Term Effects
Tolerance builds up – You may need more alcohol to feel the same effect.
Dehydration – Alcohol drains water from your body, causing dry skin and fatigue.
Poor sleep – You might fall asleep faster, but alcohol disrupts deep, restful sleep.
Stomach irritation – It can cause acid reflux, bloating, and indigestion.
🔹 Long-Term Effects
Liver damage – Fatty liver, hepatitis, fibrosis, or cirrhosis.
Heart problems – Increases risk of high blood pressure, stroke, and irregular heartbeat.
Weakened immune system – Makes you more prone to infections.
Brain changes – Memory loss, poor focus, mood swings, and risk of depression.
Cancer risk – Higher risk of mouth, throat, liver, colon, and breast cancers.
Digestive issues – Can damage the stomach lining and pancreas, causing chronic pain and poor nutrient absorption.
Addiction – Daily drinking increases risk of alcohol dependence.
⚖️ Balance & Safety
Occasional light drinking (e.g., a glass of wine a few times a week) may not harm most healthy adults.
But daily drinking—especially more than 1–2 drinks—overloads your body and increases health risks.
