First and foremost, maintaining proper hand hygiene is crucial. Avoid touching your eyes with unwashed hands, and make it a habit to regularly wash your hands with soap and water. This simple practice can significantly reduce the risk of infection.

Additionally, it is advisable to steer clear of sharing personal items, especially with individuals who may be infected. These items include pillows, washcloths, towels, eye drops, eye or face makeup, makeup brushes, contact lenses, contact lens storage cases, and eyeglasses. By refraining from sharing these personal belongings, you can help prevent the transmission of pink eye and contribute to the overall health and well-being of your community.

3. Promote outdoor play to help children's eyes develop and maintain good vision.

4. Teach children about the importance of wearing protective eyewear when playing sports or engaging in activities that could pose eye injury risks.

5. Advocate for a well-balanced diet that includes eye-healthy nutrients like vitamins A, C, and E, as well as omega-3 fatty acids.

6. Raise awareness about the signs of possible eye problems in children, such as squinting, frequent eye rubbing, or complaints of headaches or blurry vision.

By sharing these points, you can help parents and caregivers prioritize their children's eye health and ensure a brighter future for their vision.

Optometry students organised a successful eye screening camp for Dar UL Sukoon senior citizens, where they examined up to 80+ seniors citizens and gave them hope, eye drops, glasses, and lunchboxes.

Suhail Khan and Fatima Munir, & other students managed it under the guidance of Ma'am Nazia, Sir Umair, and house officer Bushra Aijaz.

Seniors' smiles are being shared with you all thanks to your donation, which made it possible.

Students were extremely grateful for the presence of the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Nisar Ahmed Siyal, and guest alumni Kamran Rizvi. They all discussed the value of clinical ophthalmic technologists and optometrists in today's technologically advanced world and how their knowledge is influencing the discipline of ophthalmology.

In the event of the 7th DUHS - DICE 2022, the Department of Ophthalmology at Dow University Hospital held a successful free eye screening camp.

Visitors to the event were screened out and given the necessary information regarding LASIK eye surgery, dry eye, PRK, contact lenses, and much more by students of optometry and ophthalmology technology.
