Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) was established in 1977 by Begum Saida Waheed as a non-profit community hospital for women and children with the purpose of supporting and augmenting services provided by the government. Realizing this issue, she set up a school of Midwifery in 1978, which was upgraded to a School of General Nursing in 1995 and to a college of Nursing offering Post Basic One Year Spec
ialization in 1999. In 2007, FMH College of Nursing was expanded and offering Diploma and Degree programs under one roof i.e. Our Nursing programs at SWCON are taught by experienced nursing faculty members from a variety of disciplines. Both Degree and Diploma nursing programs lead to professional nurses’ registration; equally divided between academic study and practical experience. In addition, we have nationally recognized nursing leaders and researchers, and all our teaching staff is committed to ensure that nurses have the best possible experience, enabling them to emerge as confident and competent professionals. Very positive experiences in practice lead many of our graduates to obtain employment at the national and global levels upon completion of their degree or diploma program. The nurses graduating from SWCON are among the best in the country, as reflected by the 46 positions and 265 distinctions secured so far in the University of Health Sciences exams since 2008.

This was the final phase for students applying for 2 years BScN program, after which final merit lists shall be displayed both online and on campus.
Please note that the interview of shortlisted candidates for the 2-year degree program RN BScN will be conducted on December 8th, 2022, at Saida Waheed College of Nursing.

On 24th November 2022, Fatima Memorial Hospital Lahore held the Annual Convocation of their Institutions, including FMH College of Medicine & Dentistry , FMH-Institute of Allied Health Sciences , and Saida Waheed College of Nursing in Pearl Continental Hotel Lahore. A large number of students, parents and faculty members attended the event. The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. After National Anthem, Dr. Tayyab Abbas (Principal of FMH-CMD) presented the annual report of all Institutions.
Chief Guests of the ceremony were Vice Chancellor Mr. Prof Ahsan Waheed Rathore (University of Health Sciences) and Prof Dr. Shahid Munir (Chairman-Punjab Higher Education Commission).
In the Annual Convocation, over 700 students of Medical, Dental, Allied Health, and Nursing were awarded medals and Degrees/Certificates.
Chairperson Shahima Rehman (Founder-Fatima Memorial System) congratulated all students, parents, and teachers. She also praised College Administration for successfully conducting the Annual Convocation.

Refresher training by Dr. Sadia Ifthikhar was arranged for Lady health workers, to enhance the role of Lady Health Workers in community case management of Pneumonia in Children under 5 years. Mothers and other community members were also engaged.
World Pneumonia Day, marked every year on 12 November, was established by the Stop Pneumonia Initiative in 2009 to raise awareness about the toll of pneumonia – a leading killer of children around the world – and to advocate for global action to protect against, help prevent and effectively treat this deadly illness.
