A leading multinational pharmaceutical company has stopped the production of its popular paracetamol brand Panadol creating a nationwide shortage.

The company, which has been demanding permission to increase Panadol price, says that production was no longer cost-effective.

Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, is a medication used to treat fever and mild to moderate pain.

The widely used brand of paracetamol is in high demand in flood-hit areas where people face a number of diseases. In urban centers, too, the demand has peaked in recent days with a higher number of dengue cases being reported.

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association of Pakistan says that the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan had sent a summary to the health ministry recommending an increase of Re1 per tablet, but the federal cabinet rejected the summary.

Today, LCH has signed a 12 year affiliation agreement with Rashid Latid Medical College. LCH will become a teaching hospital towards the end of the year, with students from RLMC II rotating at LCH during their clinical attachments. Consultants from LCH will have the option to practice and affiliate with the RLMC college as faculty. RLMC will assist LCH in its future endeavours for accreditation of postgraduate training programmes of CPSP (doctors) and Rashid Latif Khan University (nursing) as well as Paramedical college.

Our Story

Lahore Care Hospital is a state-of-the-art general hospital located in Lahore, Pakistan. It is the brainchild of Mr. Mian Muhammad Ayub, who is also the master planner and chief engineer of the project. Ground was broken in November 2013 and the hospital opened its doors on August 14, 2018 The project is a family owned and run enterprise, striving to be the premier regional health care provider to residents of its service area within Lahore & beyond.
