History:
In 1860, Sheikh Noor Elahi, who came from an agrarian background in Gurdaspur established a general store in Dalhousie which was a hill station on the border of Kashmir and Punjab in undivided India. This store catered to the gentry which came from all over India to spend the summer season.

Fazaldin was a name in pharmacy in Lahore for its ethical practice. However, its mercenary attitude to gain the windfall under current Corona pandemic ruined its image.
I had to buy a face mask. The main Jail Road branch opposite services hospital, Lahore sold a simple paper mask for Rs. 130, ordinarily sold for Rs. 20. I initially thought there was some confusion. But the salesman and the 2 other sales persons around and the cashier also affirmed the price of Rs. 130.
One does not imagine that the an institution like Fazaldin could take the advantage of the situation and indulge in black marketing.
The name earned in decades is lost in an attempt to make windfall gains.
I have left no faith now that they are not in other black business of selling date expired and counterfeit medicines also.
Let the authorities and Lahorites decide.
