Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians(pioneers) Platform of Pakistan Family Physicians Pakistan academy of family physicians (pioneers) has layed down its foundation few years back...It is the platform of uniting the family physicians around pakistan and share their experiences,research work,newly updated diseases in population and their prevention.

This forum/platform arranges various seminars,workshops & CME's(continous medical education) on each and every type of diseases which came into existance till now and those on which researches are being made. Most importantly the physicians get aware & upto date of the drugs which shows best efficacy,compatability and cost effectiveness on clinical trial basis on the patient and those which have been either banned by WHO or the one which should not be prescribed to the patients(on clinical trial) due to its severe side effects. All the professional enthusiats of family physicians elaborate their knowledge in CME's,seminars,workshops and aware you about the best current treatment and diagnostic procedures of the prevailing diseases. People with sleep apnea are at increased risk for glaucoma and should be screened for the eye disease, a new study suggests.

Researchers examined the medical records of more than 1,000 people 40 and older who were diagnosed with sleep apnea between 2001 and 2004, and compared them to a "control" group of more than 6,000 people without sleep apnea.

Those with sleep apnea were 1.67 times more likely to develop the most common type of glaucoma (open-angle glaucoma) within five years of their sleep apnea diagnosis than those in the control group, according to the study, published in the August issue of the journal Ophthalmology.

Largest-ever Database on Cancer Genetics Released in Public Domain | Medindia

Scientists at the National Cancer Institute have released the most comprehensive database on cancer-related genetic variations to enable researchers to find innovative methods to target treatment for the disease. The world-wide open-access database is based on genomic studies, and aims to accelerate the drug discovery process according to the genetic match of the patients.
